Some people prefer isolation from mainstream civilization. This has been the case for as long as humans have existed.

Hutton is just a 3300 equivalent hippy commune :D

I just imagine that I'm driving to Los Angeles from Riverside as I used to do while I was in college. ;)

There are 400 billion other star systems in the game, do you HAVE to go to that one place? :)
No but anyway, storywise, if I remember correctly there was something mentioned in frontier about this.. Was is the radiation from the star that forced the setlements to keep their distance..? something like that I think..
Anyhoo, its been discussed a zillion times already, but some day there could be in-system jumps (to other stars in the system). Alpha Centauri and other systems like it sure could use it...

This is my reaction anytime I see a Hutton Orbital thread.

Hutton Orbital sells Centauri Mega Gin, so perhaps it's worth the trip.

Even so, it's inane that this 0.23 LY trip needs be made by FSD when there is another 0.23 LY jump quite close that can be done by hyperspace. Methinks it's really just that the guys that place nav beacons were drinking way too much of said Mega Gin when they placed the Alpha Centauri beacon (and it seems, a lot of other beacons)
