Good innit? I recall heading to a system (G something or other), arriving and thinking..."hmm bugged, it's really dark here, where's the frigging sun?". Then noticing this tiny pinpoint of a white dwarf below me, was pretty awesome being in really, really dark space.

You could also include Maher (brown dwarf, should be tiny), but giants and supergiants are not in the currently playable area, however.
Edit: Forget what I said. I thought was the gif already repeating, but in fact it went on and on and on and came to Maher, too.
Fancy doing the same kind of gif with a few planets? Someone was complaining that "planets are too small". That's mostly the fault of the supercruise approach limit and the low texture detail, but it would be nice to see if gas giants really are bigger than the earthlike worlds when viewed from a constant distance.
The station McCarthur's reach is definitely worth a visit!
