I love it when it bolts out of cover and the camera operator has to scramble a bit!
I can ear that sound whenever I want in my city, I just need to take the subway. I can swear its electric trains sound almost exactly the same...just going a tad slower, and the scenery surely is less interesting.

Because you're a person of good tastes? Nothing can beat the music of a naturally aspirated V engine.
Seriously though, that Volkswagen I.D. R. is a great piece of engineering, mocking it was not my intention. It's just that I like to think I'm a product of my time, toddlers of today maybe will refer to the buzzing of an electric car in the same adoring way we old boots refer to those noisy and smelly internal combustion engines of old. That car is still a beast though!
That said, for additional shivers , I'd like to point you to another video:
That's from the channel of an Italian guy testing quite a lot of iconic cars, and doing it in a very competent and detailed way. Audio and video production are very good quality, and English subs are pretty spot on to understand what he's saying about the car. Probably the best track test of an 8C that can be found around (yes, even better than Top Gear's! ).
