I dont mean it as Im fully done with engineering everything in the game. Rather...
I had ran head first into a problem. I following a guide to efficiently unlocking the engineers for the ships. I only missing like two. I got as far that I got the invite for Hera Tani from Liz Ryder. That is fair. I gotten so far that I need to donate 50 tons of Kamitra Cigars. Not a big problem I thought. I just take my Diamondback Explore to jump down to Kamitra system to get 14 tons, which the guide said I could take at most. What a forshadowing that was.
After a nice cruise down to Kamitra to Hammel Terminal, did I fail to see on Inara that they had 0 supply. Abit waste of fuel. But I docked with Hammel Terminal and sure enough saw no Cigars for sale. I didnt even saw them being greyed out or darkened as to saw they have it, but no in stock. There was nothing at all. I checked what they were illegal in, and double to triple check if the system had a change where that rare commondity got illegal. I could see nothing out of line with that.
Oh well. Fear not I thought. I could use google to try to see if I can get them somewhere else. Only to fall onto EDSM where it shows the able carriers. I know those are out of date, but I might be lucky. I quickly looked through the closest systems to Sol, with a fleet carrier (That they only showed that have the cigars) that would have 50 or more tons of Kamitra Cigars. I did, but only to find out that the carrier in question was greyed out for me in the system map. Meaning, the owener of said carrier havent allowed everyone to dock with their carrier. So I cant verify if the carrier have what EDSM tells me they have in stock.
I tried to look through EDSM again with the list and found more carriers that have 50 or more ton of Cigars. You might be asking why I would look for 50 or more, then it is because I thought to take my Typer 8 and buy all 50 tons that I need to donate to Hera, so I only had to do it in one trip. But I travelled to those systems, scanned them and looked on the system map. Every such carriers that meets my requirements was greyed out. Well, damn it.
I then just choose to go back to Sol to switch to my Chieftain to have it prepared to do some bountry hunting/missions, as I guess I could be productive and earn some credits as I wait, I dont know how long, for the Kamitra Cigars being able again on Hammel Terminal. Inara also not very helpful for me, as I do click on "View more buying options" which takes me to "Find Commodity" but it wont allow me to search for any rare commodity outside of where they are being able to buy from.
Im just left back and wondering what there could be wrong. Is it truely because the main faction in Kamitra system had changed so the Cigars arent able anymore? Or are they getting bought up so fast that they cant keep up with supply? I dont know if any of you commanders had experienced something similar, or have any advice on what I could do to find just something like that, that I could use to donate. I just hope it is something where I need to go all the way to Colonia to just buy one. It will be a really long trip and something I rather not want to do now
