My hopes for 2023 DLC

Now we've got the Malta DLC more or less finishing off the Jurassic World Dominion animals and this year's DLC I think it's time to begin putting a together a wishlist for the future. I've made several posts already on my hopes and ideas but I'll try to treat this list as it's own deal separate from past posts.

DLC 1: Camp Cretaceous Hidden Adventure Dinosaur Pack

Pretty obvious place to go and should definitely be the first DLC of the new year. I just don't see CC being relavant later on in the year so knock it out first to give the show itself a little extra sticking place in people's memories and make sure people are interested in the DLC itself.

Animal Roster would obviously be:
1. Tarbosaurus
2. Nothosaurus
3. Smilodon
4. Spinoceratops Hybrid.

Not much more to say other than I think the free update would focus on adding more decorations and buildings themed off the show, maybe some more love towards Aquatic animals. I also see the Nothosaurus being more of a Lagoon animal than anything else so that could justify the improvements being worked into the patch.

DLC 2: 30th Anniversary DLC

This is one of the DLCs everyone seems fairly confident will come next year for the 30th Anniversary of the Jurassic Park movie. It makes sense to make this a huge deal and I doubt Frontier or Universal will miss the chance. As for what animals will make it in, what features the DLC will have, I've some ideas, most of which I've stated before and will go over again now that I've more refined ideas.

First up, the Dinosaur Roster:
1. Microceratus
2. Segisaurus
3. Ornitholestes
4. Nanosaurus

The Microceratus is the only missing Dominion animal but since it did appear in the first Jurassic Park novel it would definitely warrant it's inclusion in an Anniversary Pack. The Segisaurus for those who recall was seen on the tour map for the first movie and is pretty much the only movie animal we know nothing about. Ornitholestes might be a bit out there but it was in The Lost World novel and could be fairly interesting. I think it would also make for a good second carnivore. Nanosaurus (Othneilia) Also was a novel Dinosaur and appeared both in the JP and TLW novels. It's basically a smaller Dryosaur and while there other animals that could be included I would really like to see this one.

DLC/Update Features: Obviously lots of new decoration. Must haves include the Hammond Statue from Jurassic World, some more dinosaur skeletons like the ones from the first movie and maybe some ruined, overgrown buildings, vehicles, etc. Would definitely love to see the incubators and test tubes from JP3. You could pull a lot of different things from throughout the movie series. I would also add the Dominion Chaos Theory Map as a Challenge Mode map. It's a little weird we haven't gotten that yet so it could pad out the DLC unless we're getting it in the Malta DLC which I don't believe is the case though feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Beyond that I think it would be smart to return the Muertes Archipelago following a similar set up to how the islands on Malta function. Muerta, Tacano and Matanceros would be the 3 new locations. You could definitely ignore Pena given how small it is and what a pain it was in the first game. Beyond that probably more challenge mode stuff, QoL stuff and hopefully some new attractions like a Balloon/Helicopter Tour and Submarine/Kayak ride for the Lagoons. Would also love an Overgrown Building set. Carnotaurus also 100% needs it's camoflage ability back.

DLC 3: Bizarre Dinosaur Pack

I don't really have much reason for this one other than that there are some fan favorites which would fit this idea and they do seem to be exploring some more unique animals in the toylines.

Animal Roster:
1. Concavenator
2. Diabloceratops
3. Gigantoraptor
4. Deinocheirus

This seems like a solid list and would definitely make for a very must have pack. Also been a long while since we got another piscivore dinosaur, could also very much lean into the feathers with Gigantoraptor and Deinocheirus.

As for the update, I think maybe some more Sandbox improvements, bug fixes, etc. Nothing too fancy for this one.

DLC 4: Ice Age DLC
With the introduction of the Smilodon in Camp Cretaceous and the mention of them trying to clone Wooly Mammoths I think it would be extremely likely to see a DLC themed around this perhaps featuring Dr. Wu as the main character. We've still yet to really see any "hair" in the game since Frontier mentioned working on hair and feathers during the first Dominion expansion.

Roster is as follows:
1. Wooly Mammoth
2. Wooly Rhino
3. Megatherium
4. Arctodus (Short-faced Bear)

This seems like a very strong roster of iconic ice age animals.
No clue what features the DLC or free update would add but I would personally like an economy and management overhaul to improve areas where the game is currently lacking. It can definitely be a huge struggle not going into the red on certain maps and while there is certainly more to do from the management side of things, I feel like I spend way more time waiting around for bars to finish loading, which is the opposite of what Frontier wanted.

This is what I'd like to see out of next years DLC and I hope it's where they go.

As for 2024 there's definitely still room for DLC and future Jurassic projects outside of JWE2 so hopefully we get even more then. For that year I would love to see a Lagoon, Aviary and Permian animal pack/DLC of some kind.

Feel free to give me your thoughts. Frontier definitely listens so the more we get hyped for the future the more likely it is we'll see some of what we want. See you all in Malta tomorrow and happy holidays!

Thank you, I appreciate you saying. I did study game design in college and given how consistent Frontier is with the structure of their DLC I felt that following that structure to be easier than just going hogwild with a thousand different things. There's so many amazing dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals out there I'm not surprised people want to include as much as they can. I do my best to set a semi-realistic framework for my ideas.
