So I know plenty of people have talked about this already, both here and on other platforms. Pretty sure I've talked about it myself but after getting the feathered Dinosaur pack I'm pretty pumped for the rest of the year. It did feel like a lot of people expected us to only get 2 DLCs this year and for the book to be closed on JWE2. I was definitely on the more optimistic side and so this has got my creative juices flowing. While I know Frontier has their own ideas surely I am hoping they'll continue to look at what we the community have to say and give us more desired features and animals.
So first off the 30th Anniversary DLC. I'm pretty confident in saying we'll for sure get the following two animals.
1. Microceratus
2. Segisaurus
Microceratus is the only remaining missing Dominion animal and it appeared in the first book. Segisaurus is also the only remaining Jurassic Park era movie animal we do not have. Even though it only appeared on a map I'm confident we'll finally see it in action.
As for animal 3 and 4 while there are plenty of animals from the both the JP and TLW novels we could still see I'm going to lean towards the following.
3. Hypsilophodon
4. Ornitholestes
For those who are curious here are the other possibilities:
A. Nanosaurus
B. Mussaurus
C. Hadrosaurus
D. Procompsongnathus
The Nanosaurus is frankly not as interesting as Hypsilophodon which is why I don't think it'll make the cut. I would dearly love Mussuarus instead of Ornitholestes but knowing Frontier I think getting a second carnivore is more likely than getting 3 herbivores. Hadrosaurus is likely to be a strong contender for the other herbivorous dinosaur we get but I just don't think it's interesting enough to be beat out the Hypsilo. Procomp was replaced by Compies in the movies so no real need to add it to the mix.
Frontier does tend to lean heavily towards carnivores over herbivores in packs so I think the mostly likely scenario is to get 2 Herbivores and 2 Carnivores with my money going towards those previously stated. They are the most interesting and likely animals from across both books and the movies.
Then the obvious addition of a new campaign, some challenge/sandbox maps, maybe even a new Chaos Theory map for Camp Cretaceous. I feel like that would be a decent spread of paid of content though I could see some skins/models which I'll bring up later being folded in as well.
As for what features I'd like to see with the free update ...
I want a placeable Jurassic Park San Diego Amphitheater along with a Jurassic World version. We know there was some kind of Pachy Arena in Jurassic World. It would be nice to see that realized.
Toggleable lights for Lagoon viewing vents and a Lagoon viewing dome. These I think are a must have.
Camouflage Genome for the Carno and Ornitholestes if we get it. Allow Compies and Dilophosaurus to inflict the venom debuff. The TLW Pteranodon skin. Big Eatie from CC and the Prosthetic Baryonyx from JWD.
Decorations. From all across the movies. The John Hammond Statue needs to be brought in. The JP3 cloning vats and egg incubators. The mural from the worker village in TLW, maybe as a billboard. More signs, flags, and pathway decorations. New pathways in general. An overgrown building set. Dinosaur holograms.
I've got stuff to do before my mom's birthdays so the rest of my ideas will have to wait to be fully fleshed out. When I'm back I'll edit this post with what I hope comes after.
Camp Cretaceous Species Pack
Not much to say here other than that I think this will be the next dinosaur pack DLC. Would make sense to have it come directly after the 30th anniversary. Don't see much point it into making it the big DLC unless they really wanted to push it during the holidays with a tie-in DLC or something.
1. Smilodon
2. Nothosaurus
3. Spinoceratops Hybrid
4. Tarbosaurus
Ice Age Expansion
So this idea is based off the the assumption that a Camp Cretaceous Pack is next, which if it is would give us the Smilodon which would make an expansion themed around Ice Age animals perfect. While I don't have any ideas for an update or other features here's my ideal roster of animals.
1. Wooly Mammoth
2. Wooly Rhino
3. Megatherium
4. Dodo
The Mammoth has been mentioned in JP/W media as being in the works for cloning in the past. It'd be a great headliner for the Ice Age pack. The Wooly Rhino would also be an amazing addition to the game. I personally really want the Giant Ground Sloth. It's just such a cool creature. While the Dodo did go extinct well after the Ice Age it was alive or at the very least evolved during that time. It's been mentioned on and off in JP/JW media and would be nice to see given some recognition in the game.
or
Bizarre Species Pack
If the Camp Cretaceous DLC ends up being a full expansion then this is the dinosaur pack I'd like to see between it and the Anniversary Expansion. Again, just the ideal roster.
1. Alvarezsaurus
2. Diabloceratops
3. Concavenator
4. Pterodaustro
Alvarezsaurus would be a great addition since we just got insect feeders added to the game. Diabloceratops is just wild looking and the toy for it could be a good starting point for the design. Both Concavenator and Irritator are highly requested animals and I'm personally leaning towards Concavenator since it does have a more interesting profile and there's a toy for it already. Lastly Pterodaustro would be an amazing pterosaur to add to the game. It's just such a weird looking animal that it'd fit the theme of the pack perfectly. I've included an image of it for emphasis. I remember seeing art of it somewhere as a child and it's always stuck with me. Definitely a personal favorite I'd love to see given more attention in prehistoric media.
So that's it. My hopes for the rest of the year. Would love to hear some thoughts and opinions from others in the community.
