I thought of a few possible ones, some of them would be more exciting (or only possible) if planetary landing was available.
One type of mission could be people wanting to get off their planet/station and go somewhere else, they could include:
1. Fugitives: A random number of people want you to take them from their current position to another. The faction that owns the station/planet they are currently on is the faction that wants them dead/captured. You will become wanted and lose rep with that faction if you are scanned and discovered to be carrying them, and you will gain rep with the faction that the fugitives belong to if you successfully get them to their destination. The chance and difficulty level of interdiction may be raised while on this mission.
2. Simple transportation of random people to another place. This could be station workers on leave wanting to go to the the planet that their station orbits, or vice versa, workers needing to get up to the station. Businessmen needing to get somewhere else etc, the probabiity of interdictions may increase when carrying important or wanted people, but remain the same for unimportant passengers.
3. Tourists!
This is my favourite idea because i killed two birds with one stone, do you wish that there was a financial incentive to get closer to those beautiful planets? And do you wish the orca was good for something? Then read on!
These are the type of tourist missions i thought of:
Normal tourists: They will ask you to take them close to a random planet/asteroid field/black hole and then you simply stay in it's vicinity for 60 seconds, after that you get the message, 'Wow amazing!', or, 'meh we've seen better, ok take us home commander.' and you do so, or they may ask to be set down at the planet/station itself if possible.
Luxury cruise tourists:
Same again except you get paid much more, but you must have a luxury cruise ship like the orca, or another one if a new cruise ship is released by that time.
There may be a small chance of pirates attacking you, but usually it's a relaxing "go and look at a planet" mission.
And of course, if you are just passing through and dont much care about local reputation, and you're evil
the tourists may hear your voice crackling through the speakers: Alright you unlucky people! Our destination is no longer the tourist water-world destination of Paradisium 4, but the hellish slave world of Excruciatrix 6!!! MUHAAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
What you think, good ideas or not really?
