Hello all. I decided to log my trip from Colonia back to my home in SOL and just wanted to share with everyone. I am flying an ASP Explorer with a jump range of 43 Ly. My goal was to get back as fast as I could but at the same time hit a few cool looking spots on the way back to break up the jump and honkness I was in for. So here we go.
My journey starts at the Jaques Station at 7:55 pm on Jan 30th with one final look at the station to say good by.
On my way to my first checkpoint I came across a shot opportunity I couldn't pass up.
My first checkpoint was was the system PSR J1846-0258 Also known as the Kes-75 Magnetar system at a distance of 4,408 Ly away from Colonia. I arrived and landed on one of the moons at around 3:00 am. After 4 hours of jumping I was ready to call it a night so I could get an early start the next day. I lined up a good picture and logged off for the night.
I continued my journey the next day at noon knowing that I was in for a long day but couldn't wait for the sights I was going to see along the way. The next stop coming into view was a great looking nebula so I couldn't help taking a picture before jumping into it.
My second checkpoint was the system PRUA PHOE TS-B D126 also known as the Skaudai Nebula. At a distance of 6,111 Ly from my last checkpoint it took me a while to cross that distance and arrive here but the view was absolutely worth it. I arrived at 7:30 pm with this site in front of me when I landed and I was mesmerized by all the nebulas in one area in front of me.
I stuck around for about an hour just taking it all in and grabbed a quick bit to eat and stretched my legs a bit before continuing on my journey since It was still kind of early.
4 hours later I landed at my third checkpoint, the system CSI-06-19031 also known as the NGC Nebula around another 5,500 LY away from my last checkpoint. I decided to land on a moon right on the line of the dark side and light side hoping to get a cool sunrise/sunset picture in this beautiful nebula. I ended up getting a pretty good shot and decided to call it a night after traveling a distance of about 10,500 Ly.
With the longest part of my journey done I knew this was going to be the last day and I was ready to be back at SOL. I left for my next checkpoint at around noon again.
My forth checkpoint was only a distance of 1,800 Ly away so it only took about 2 hours to get too. The system OMEGA SECTOR EL-Y D60 in the Omega Nebula was my fourth checkpoint. I decided I would get out of my ship and drive around a bit to get a cool shot of a deep crater.
My fifth checkpoint was just another 1,200 Ly away in the Lagoon Nebula. I landed at HERSCHEL 36 after just an hour. This Nebula made for some fantastic sights to take in.
My sixth checkpoint was the shortest distance of any of them and only took a few jumps to get to at only 266 Ly away and was by far my favorite stop on my journey back. THOR'S EYE was an incredible sight to take in when I lined the Lagoon nebula up behind it.
My seventh checkpoint was a distance of 3,700 Ly away and I was so close to SOL I could taste it so after spend time with Thor I was on my way. The seventh checkpoint on my list was the Dumbbell nebula at the BD+22 3878 system. It took me another 5 hours to get to but it was an awesome nebula with some cool sights and a huge crater on the moon I went down to take my pictures on. I decided to fly over it instead of landing just to get the size in the shot a little more.
Finally I was left with only one checkpoint left, SOL, at a distance of only 1,100 Ly it didn't take me long to get home.
The journey was great and I love exploring and can't wait to go back out soon but for now I'm gona join in on the Rift Mystery and alien runis to get some new scans. Thats why I headed back a lot faster then I normally would have. Now it's time for some new paint and maybe a ship change just to switch it up for a while. Thanks for reading this all if you made it this far. See you on the next journey out.
Some notes if anyone is interested: Made a profit of 6.2 million credits and 81 discoveries in my name now but as I said I did a trip I would normally go slow on and take a few weeks to do in about 75 hours so thats why I didn't make a ton but I'm not in it for the credits.
Also if anyone wants to add me, I play on the Xbox under the gamertag Fraltic.
