Engineers my Luck upgrading my multicannons!

took 30 rolls to get corrosvie Shells for the large multicannon on my FAS!

Today i went to Todd again with my FDL and had materials for 24 rolls:

Huge multicannon got corrosive Shells
1 medium mulitcannon also corrosive Shells
1 medium cannon received thermal shock!

Tod also got rank 4 unlocked doing this!

Wooohooo :D I am one happy camper!

You're the guy that shows up to the raid for the first time ever, gets exactly what he wants and never shows up again.. Meanwhile all the dedicated people that are there night after night are on month six of "Almost..."

Congrats... but I'm not feeling the love of the RNG. :(

Yeah corrosive shells are IMHO a bit too good. I have 2 ships with it and it seems like a huge game changer when shields go down.

Didnt you get the effects you wanted as well? Just saw you post something along the lines in another threat...

I actually want incendiary rounds for the medium multicannons ;) the corrosive Shells on the huge are what I wanted though :D

Nope I did not get the effects I wanted. I only posted stats on how many rolls I've performed and offered a contrast of how many materials I've abandoned. Derailing that other thread with RNG complaints was inappropriate as the topic was specifically in regards to materials storage.

I have yet to get a single weapons modification that I actually want and am currently running around with a Thermal Shock, Thermal Vent beam laser combo despite the fact that what I actually want is a pair of Regenerative Sequence modified beam lasers. I've given up and am now simply waiting for the release of favors and spending my efforts exclusively on upgrading the modules on my ship that don't have chances for special effects that I don't want.

I've used enough materials to equivalent 40+ hours of gameplay on my rolls for weapon mods so far. I haven't mined for any of my materials thus far.

My biggest irritation more than anything is just seeing the roulette wheel land just right before, or just right after the lovely little box that grants a magical special effect. It happens 90% of the time on failures, easily. It's exactly like watching a fruit machine hit 77:mad: and when every roll represents a bunch of your time... Let's just say I'm thankful favors is coming... I just hope picking also comes with a materials cost increase along with reputation costs. I'm very scared of what pure thermal shock builds are going to do in terms of meta.

You should reroll one of your corrosive weapons, as they don't stack :p

The 'wheel' landing near special effects is an optical illusion. The wheel is not driven by physics like a real wheel. The moment you press that roll button the stats are generated and the rest is just sophistry. It's a trick used by electronic gambling machines to make you think you were close to winning in an effort to make you think spending more money is worthwhile (you got so close last time, after all!).

Corrosive weapons don't stack, but you should move one of them over to another ship. No sense letting good weapons go to waste.

My luck with the RNG can be summed up with pulse lasers - one Scramble Spectrum medium gimballed pulse (a chance to cause malfunctions per hull hit), and one Phasing Sequence large gimballed pulse (some damage goes through shields to hit the hull). This is with circa 20 rolls on the Engineer tables.

So which upgrade (not effect) is good for multicannons?

I was thinking about getting Overcharged weapon for the C4 Multicannon on my FdL, but would short range blaster be better?

I haven't tried either of them yet, still looking for the mats. Curious if someone tried one, or both, and have some feedback on their performance.

Leaning towards overpowered myself but only class 5, as the lower levels add jitter whereas lvl 5 doesn't

More than one corrosive shell on your ship is a waste because it doesn't stack, one has the same effect as having more than one.

Thanks guys for th einfos the corrosive Shells dont stack! I was thinking that! Would you Keep the effect on the Huge multicannon which shoots slower or on one of the medium which shoots faster? I have no idea once hit how Long the effect lasts -- maybe the firing of the huge is to slow? or maybe just perfect?

Chance of getting a special is between 5-10%, so your chance of getting a specific special is borderline 1-2% depending on weapon type and rank I really wouldn't roll going for a specific one your in for disappointment.

well I got the ones I wanted on 2 ships already so I have no issues! If I could have jus tbought them how boaring - the rqndomness makes it Special which is what Elite was lacking... rare Upgrades! So not everyone flies around with the same Cookie cutter build!

Fu Yea bro, awesome.

Wow you've managed to get special effects on your weapons. You must have spent nearly every waking hour since release playing this game. I reckon it'll take me another month of play just to get 1. Well done...impressive :)
