I think the greatest days of Elite are ahead of us. I have spent several hours with 2.1 now that it is live and I beta tested it as well, and I am very excited. I like that the builds require work and I like that I have to do a little bit of everything to get the mats I want.
I feel like this update filled out several gaps...
1) the AI... I am now afraid of wings and ranks, I have to think; "can I kill this". I find myself flying better; I am moving my pips around I am boost turning. I am reading threads like this one Remedial Pilot School: The NPC Awakening from Monk.
I love a challenge.
2) im having to search for the things I want... to upgrade my FSD to rank 3 took my about 6ish hours of play (I didn't know what I was doing or where to look). I enjoy finding things that are hidden. I have now gotten good at driving my SRV something I never cared to do before (HINT: xbox controller). the search has prompted me to create this Helpful Engineer sites so that others wouldn't have to waste time like I did.
3) I actually care now what the faction im working for thinks of me and this dude that is assigning me missions for the Wolves of Jonai I want him to give me better missions.
this is not a thread to debate the merits of 2.1 or AI or missions or what I had for breakfast I just wanted to record my feelings for FDev to see.
