Ship Builds & Load Outs My opinions and suggestions of weapons.

I have to say a few things. First who designed the weapons some of them are really cool looking but some are extremely ugly and cartoony let's take the cannon for example. The class one looks like a t shirt cannon or a toaster. But the class 2 cannon looks freaking awesome and the we have the class 3 cannon that looks like a old howitzer with new paint the class 4 cannon is pretty cool though. While on the topic of cannons why such a slow velocity most modern day cannons can hit a target at 7km almost instantly with wind resistance and gravity.
Back to ugly weapons class 1 and 2 pulse and burst lasers look old and outdated but the class 3 looks awesome I would really want a class 4 pulse laser for my conda and fdl.
Weapons I would like to see.
A high velocity single barreled auto cannon for class 3 and 4 only. Could look like a futuristic version of the 25 or 30 mm bushmaster cannon.
Class 4 of all weapons (except multicannon)please please with a cherry on top.
Magnetic accelerator cannons like a rail gun mixed with a cannon a in between weapon between cannons and railguns
Maybe different variants of existing weapons like a gutamaya pulse laser. Blue laser pulse and looks like it belongs on imperial ships.
Sorry I kinda went over board I have so many ideas and suggestions but I just noticed no one will realy listen and those who do will get angry at me for suggesting a change.

I wouldn't mind manufacturer specific cosmetic differences between weapons.

As for variants, I would like to see the reintroduction of the old overcharged, high-impact/focused, and low power, weapons.

sure, anchored to the ground. you're firing this cannon from a tiny ship in a medium with almost no gravity and resistance. actually, it should send you way back. let's assume that the low velocity is deliberate to allow for automagical ship stabilization :)

some of your proposals sound cool but you didn't really explain why they are needed and how they would affect balance. it's not just having the ideas, they have to be made to work, and there are still issues with current weapons. that said, who wouldn't like more weapons? lots of them! :D

Low velocity cannons to allow for thruster correction. ..fair enough
As for weapons we need more any way but i forgot a way to balance them.
Auto cannon way slower rate of fire but same velocity as multicannon but more damage and way better penetration.
Mac weapon. Split second to charge way better velocity as cannon but not as much damage but better penetration.

Bit late but my thoughts:

More class 4 weapons - Big yes from me, the C4 cannon is woeful and the PA takes so much power that huge hardpoint is a tad pointless.
Pulse laser variants - Why not :) Personally I'd like to see a whole range of game customisation options such as ship lights and laser colours as well as a ton of other things.

Auto-Cannon - Yeah they added that powerplay C1 auto-cannon type thing which was a bit of a disappointment, I hear any faster fire rate cannon becomes a nightmare to balance at larger sizes without the nerf being very obvious, which is why the multi-cannon stops at class 2.
Railgun-cannon - Not sure what you are asking for here railguns do use magnetic force to fire a shell. Essentially railgun = magnetic accelerator. And as above, railguns also too sniper-like and overpowered at size 3 or 4 (I remember reading a dev comment on weapons).
 
Now that we're getting planetary landings we should also have bombs (dumb and smart) for attacking "enemy" ground installations or more likely a player ship on the ground, perhaps the ship's point defence turrets could be a form of defence against being bombed while on the ground.

An auto-cannon really needs to be completely new class of weapon capable of firing anti-shield and anti-hull rounds, possibly the ammo could be changed from the cockpit as opposed to having different load-outs installed at a station.
