Hello,
as a long-time Elite player (joined Jan 17, 2015), I would like to share with you my thoughts on generating a list of available missions on space stations.
Currently, these missions are offered in several categories and divided into solo and group missions. However, this generation occurs within a common pool of up to 75 missions offered simultaneously (although there are often fewer of them - on average, a total of 55 different missions are displayed - including circa 10 group missions).
And here comes my observation, because it is often the case that group missions draw their foundations (task objective/type of goods) from material identical to solo missions, and their generation into the pool of the current board occurs at the expense of identical missions not dedicated to groups of players. The thing is that group missions are kept on the bulletin board much longer than solo missions (from what I have noticed, even 3-4 changes to solo missions are accompanied by maintaining the same, offered group missions), which seriously limits players who roam the space alone (and playing alone is nothing unusual - considering the nature of the Elite game and the size of the galaxy).
Additionally, there is a solo game option in the game in which group missions are also displayed (because all game modes are drawn from one - identical pool of offers on the board), and the nature of which (group) is unlikely to find - in this game mode - its recipients (if only due to the higher amounts of raw materials required, the market value of which exceeds the 50 million reward limit).
Therefore, I allow myself to propose - asking for Community support - a request to the Developers to consider a minor correction in the game code, which will be attractive both to players performing solo and group missions. Namely, the idea is that these two groups of missions should not be generated within a single pool of tasks (i.e. the indicated limit of 75 missions), but that group tasks should be generated within a separate pool (of e.g. 10 or 15 missions) - which would give a total sum of up to 90 missions displayed same time.
As a result of such a solution, group missions would not fill the pool of all displayed solo missions and would not limit the number of displayed solo missions of a similar nature.
Elite is a great game, and the recent changes are worthy of special attention, however, it may be worth making such a small correction to provide additional positive opportunities for action - both for supporters of group play and freelancers.
I kindly ask the Developers to consider and approve this proposal.
