My quandary

As a trader, do I buy a Cobra or do I keep on trucking until i get the Lakon type 6? Will I be able to reach systems further away with the Cobra?

Am flying the Hauler at the moment and while I do like the bigger cargo hold, I am not a fan of the limited range. Flying between the same stations over and over is getting abit dull. Not to mention the station flight controllers are probably sick of me scraping their landing pads

I would say keep saving for the type 6, your jump range will increase dramatically as will your cargo. If you want also be able to do combat then a cobra would be a better choice but dont forget that when you kit a cobra fully out with weapons your jump range will be a lot less.

The Cobra has 36 cargo slots so you can actually carry more (than a hauler).

It can jump approximately 8+ LY per jump so you CAN cross over to LHS3006 (Eranin downwards towards LHS3006).

However once you start tricking out the Cobra from its default weapons and armour, your jump range is going to go down.

It's got to be worth trading your way through the ships, so you get a good feel for them all. There's no end game but in time we will be able to own multiple craft. So trade up and enjoy the journey.... you'll gain by understanding each craft yourself so you can make better selection choice in the future.
