My Raxxla Notes

Hello Fellow commanders. Raxxla has been an on and off again search for me since pretty much the beginning. This will serve as the collection of notes, that are the most pertinent with the most recent theories. I wanted to make a separate thread from the main Raxxla thread because, I think I figured out how to find raxxla.

There are so many wild theories out there, I have even fallen for a few. But we need a foundation if we are ever to find it, and I feel once I throw this information out there, someone smarter than me can piece together what's left.

First lets start with a foundation, since a lot has happened in the lats 10 years. These are the hints/clues that lead me to my train of thought:

1:
MB: "Raxxla is not that."
Context: when a cmdr joked about naming Shinrata, Raxxla instead.
Foundation: Raxxla is not a system.

2:
"A place that is not a place, a door that is also a key"

"A place that is not a place"
Context: A "place" in Elite is something you can select in the menus or map.
Foundation: Raxxla is not findable in the menu's or the map (system or galaxy)

"A door that is also a key"
Context: The only "door" in Elite are Main stars. You jump to a main star, opening a door into the system.
Foundation: Whatever system Raxxla is in, The main star is the key

For years people have been counting the dashed lines, and thinking this is a hexagon.

It is not a hexagon. It is a 3d cube inside a 3dcube. there is a sun astronomical symbol, and a broken up orbit line, surrounded by dashed lines, and 6 green bars.

It shows a star, at the center of two 3d cubes. But to me, the star is behind the blue cube, but inside the pink cube.

My theory:
The bigger 3d cube represents A system. because the 6 bars are rays of sunlight from the main star. A star's light only affects the system it is in. You can recreate this by jumping to a system, and flying away from the star, then turning around and flying directly at it. When you get into a certain range, the "sun rays" appear on any luminous star.

To me, the star would be in the system, but not inside of the blue cube. Its rays are reflecting off of the 3d cube corner.
The smaller 3d cube has a broken up orbit symbol.
The orbit symbol has a pattern. which is important, because Stars are the source of all pattern alignments within a system. Full moons, Eclipses, etc. They all happen regularly within each systems given orbits.

Foundation: Raxxla's only visible during certain alignments

Its as if you need to align yourself towards the star, in a specific orientation, and the orbiting body will show up in some pattern.

This is Sol, and at the moon around earth. with star ray lines

But that's a lot, and there isn't any green.

This is Neptune. We have the green, because yellow and blue... But this only happens at very very specific angles or patterns...

And this is a planet that is aligned with the star directly behind it: Sol behind Neptune at 14,000 LS

In order to get an alignment, you need at least 2 things. a Star, and a body (planet, moon ,etc) . And if no other body then you need at least 2 stars. Schedar has a big main star, a biggish secondary, and 2 orbiting or spiralling stars about 5,000 ls away, if your theory goes down that path.

Foundation:
  • Raxxla is in a system
  • It is not findable on system maps
  • It appears in patterns
  • It orbits either a star or body, since those are the only two things that can cause alignments
This keeps inline with 1.0 mechanics, which we have from MB that raxxla was already in by 1.0 its simply revealing something at a certain distance, at a certain alignment. Exactly what the voyager and other ancient satellites used to be before the DSS change.

This foundation fits into every other existing hint we have confirmed as well (check out the main raxxla thread)

So Raxxla Hunters, from my point of view, and with this supplied evidence, I think we should be checking alignments of the main star, and any secondary stars, or bodies in the system to reveal raxxla.

For example, my theory I am testing right now is waiting for Triton to align between the Sun and Neptune, and hanging around the void hotspot that doesnt have a drop point:

A little more clarity, since some questions came through in the various places:

A "pattern of light" inside a solar system, is actually a mechanic. Full moon for earth = a moon, earth, and sun, in a straight line. The moon being "behind" earth, so the sun light hits all of earth, and the moon. In my theory (i dont think its earth/moon, just an example), if we apply the raxxla codex image with the 3d cube perspective, you would wait unti l the moon is behind earth, and both in line with the sun.

And to get the "periphery" you would go behind the moon, relatively close and scan the edges. In my theory, Raxxla would appear.

I am not sure if the graphic is saying a single star system, with no apparent bodies. and raxxla just shows up, or if it means 2 stars, and they both have to have a certain alignment. (eg a main starn and a brown dwarf in its orbit) I am just saying the one thing we have never ever checked in our raxxla hunt, is if raxxla appears during some alignment, and Eclipses and "full moons" alignments happen with any planet/moon combo and the main star.
