my Reverb G2 just died. Now what?

okay, I'm pretty certain now the lenses have improved too. I think the sweet spot is a little bigger, and while the edges are still blurry, I get way less chromatic abberation at the fringes of the lenses.

Which begs the question: Is this a general V2 improvement, or because the lens quality was all over the place anyway. For other buyers of the V2 I hope it's not the latter. Personally, I will probably never know ;-)

I think you get used to the headset you use the most, it's just human nature.

I can imagine if you've spent years using the Index and then try something different, you'll immediately focus on things like the changes in FoV it must be tough for reviewers to stay objective in that regard

I know what you mean, more so as I cannot swap between headsets as the old one is gone. But there are definite differences between the lenses. I have a blue HUD setup, and with the old one the lines and text got a very well visible purple shadow when they were near the edge of the lends. That is almost gone. Also I think I can read text better outside the sweet spot.

But you are right, hard to stay objective, more so if working from memory.
