Last time I felt like this was probably Christmas when I was 6! OMG I am sooooo excited!

Been gaming ever since pong but nothing comes close to this new toy in terms of expectations! I tried both the PS VR and the Vive before
and I can already say this: the Hardware Looks and feel sso much better and it is soo light compared to the others!!!

The great Thing is even my wife is totally hyped ever since she tried the PS VR and the Vive with me and wants her own Headset :D I am looking Forward to multicrew ships I guess ;)

The box man I am in aww it is all so well crafted and the design is astonishing! What a Quality Piece of Equipment in every aspect! Man what should I try first?!
I Keep Elite for last... just wanne try some thigns and Show the Wifey!

I would show her Henry, Lost and Invasion. They are free in the "Experiences" category in the oculus store. Henry is probably my favorite of those. For games besides Elite, I would suggest Adrift. Its a pretty fun experience.

And welcome to VR! :)

thanks! wow the firstr menue screen where I got scanned witht the blue floor and th smoke already had my jaw dropp to the floor!

How can I see these initial demooes again with the Trex and standing on that building?!? I missed it showing it to my mother in law... she was blown away....

How great is this?!?! I am mind blown....

You need to download Dreamdeck from the oculus store.

I'd highly recommend Dreamdeck, everyone I've initiated into the World of VR I started there with. And even there I start with the more 'mild' ones first :)

Then Lucky's Tale (free) for actual gaming. Every person's been totally blown away by the overall VR experience.

Congrats! Mine is arriving today. I'm very close to leaving work early to wait for the delivery. Although it's not touted much, I'd also recommend the "Introduction to VR" video. My mom isn't keen on VR, but that demo has aspects of VR that many ppl don't consider, such as experiencing other countries, events without having to go across the world to do so, or can't. That demo is short, but it has neat short 360 degree videos of: being out in the plains of Africa as elephants are around you, floating in space, on a boat in another country, Cirque de Soleil performing around you, and a few others.

it IS SOOOO MAGICAL! I cant stop being in there!!! Wife just running some errands will try to glimpse at elite :D

wow lucks tale totally transfered me into a maic world of ist own! Wife got motionsick in Luckys Tale but I just LOVE it! WOW I never had expected VR to have this big of an Impact on me!
Life will never be the same!!! It is SOOO different to playing on a flat Monitor?!?! How do I even go back at normal gaming?!?!

Simple answer you don't it's a one way trip and your not coming back. Enjoy every second waiting for mine to ship any day now hopefully. Meanwhile will play with the good old dk2

I'm glad some people are getting their kicks out of it, I'm totally underwhelmed by it TBH. I grew bored of my DK2, especially in ED. Yeah, its a pretty good improvement from the DK2 but so what? there is no content worth playing, yeah, even Elite Dangerous. They killed the fun in this game.

I'm tempted to get a vive for room scale VR, but even then, I'm feeling like its a massive gimmick. BTW, I think racing games are better on a surround setup.

Sorry to rain on your parade, I'm not a miserable git, just a bit jaded. Maybe I'll come around... maybe...

glad you enjoy it.... I know there are 1 or 2 people who do not enjoy VR, the exception to prove the rule etc, but for the vast majority of the time, when I read a post saying VR is a fad or the new 3D TV I just know it is from someone who has not actually tried decent VR.

Gimmick?... Lifetime gimmick maybe!
I've been playing ED and warthunder for almost a year on my DK2 and still completely obsessed with VR....and that's with all the present short-comings. I don't even have a CV1 yet. The fact that you are bored with ED becuase of content has nothing to do with VR but the game itself (I smell burn-out?). I on the other hand play couple of hours every few days a week(basically ALL my free time) and still excited!
Having said that I absolutlety can't wait for CV2/next gen headsets with larger hor FOV/peripheral vision.
Also want to add to this is my gf never cared for video games AT ALL, but now after trying some demos and ED, she's actually keen on playing. She is especially keen on trying the new VR star trek game coming out soon. VR has given me the greatest gift- playing with my girlfriend- never having to feel so guilty anymore (I plan on having 2 seperate VR systems).

My wife is like your girfriend! never played games :( now she loves VR and told me to order her one as well! :D I am also looking Forward to Play the Star Trek: Bridge Crew with her :D that will be another hcildhood dream come true! oh and when Elite has multicrew ships enabled :D

Nobody killed the fun of Elite it is better than ever thanks to the awesome engineers update! I ahve 1000 hours and had breaks inbetween of a few month here and there! but since 2.1 I am hooked again BUT now with VR I am hooked beyond anything I will Play this game unti I either have a real spaceship to travel the galaxy or until the day I die! I just LOVE every second of it!!!!
Me having a spaceship = childhood dream come true! Elite VR delivers that and than some!
