My s s s s Stuttering Video

So most of you have seen me griping and moaning about the stutters in game. I thought i would make a video to show everyone, FD what I experience.

My apologies in advance if the video is poor quality, my first time ever making a game video, and uploading to the tube. Also It seems I lost around 15-20FPS here n there maybe recording program?

EDIT: For clarity I had no issues in 1.2, butter smooth, until the stutter around planets showed up.

Edit #2 Turned off TrackIR, Voice Attack anything else that may affect the game.

Your FPS isn't bad, and I don't think I see any other CMDR's on your scanner, but I didn't watch the whole video all the way through. Have you got any big downloads or windows updates running in the background?

No I sure don't, my system is exceptionally clean with minimal processes running. This was in private group (local friends). I have conducted many many test n tweaks but nada. So I am 100% this is on Frontier's end. Because I didn't have this in 1.2 and the sheer randomness of affected players. I normally get 60 FPS everywhere except RES zones, and sometimes in stations it will drop to 49-50.

thats how the game was for me pre patch ever since 1.0, but 1.3 made it butter smooth for me.
i really hope they can fix it for you guys whit out bringing the old stutter back for us who suffered from it before.

That is exactly what I fear.

1.3 improved the FPS for a lot of people.

Well, I'm glad that the change has at least helped other people improve the quality of their experience. :) But, for me, with this now on top of the other bugs and rank progression issues, the game has pretty much become unplayable, so I think this is a good time for me to get into something else. Steam Sale is on so there's plenty of options.

Yep me too, maybe some BF4, STO or get Dying Light...

Pffffft. Try going through LHS 3447 in Open Play. *That* is stuttering, my friend.

Yea I am sure,, partial reason I avoid open like the plague.

I have this problem as well, periodic and seemingly random skips and hangs. Sometimes as bad as a whole half-second burps at a time. Even in solo.

Sometimes just exiting the game and re-entering sorts it.. sometimes toggling in/out of fullscreen (or vice versa) sorts it... sometimes.

My system is hardly a slouch, should not have this happening. :/

Latest update helped improve overall FPS, but the skips still happen (when they decide to).

Friend of mine played a lot of Dying Light, said he absolutely loved it. Not really into zombies myself though. I've got a few games to finish, like the DLC for Alien: Isolation, and catch up on, like Far Cry 4. :)

All was well for me after 1.3.00 and before 1.3.02. Now it's a rage-quit time every single time I happen to interdict someone close to a planet. FYI, I play The Witcher 3 on Ultra at 1440p and get locked 60fps 100% of the time. This has been an on / off issue with ED (i.e. not with my PC) since launch.

It sounds like these stutters are on Virtual Servers that are under heavy loads and do not have the same priorities as some servers do.
If FD has not responded to these then its because they know the reason but can not tell us. The denial twist.

Have Exactly same issue.

Yea it's very likely but why is this selective and not everybody??

I get the same thing, especially around stations though my FPS are capped at 60 FPS and rarely drop below. I'm playing with a 4.5 GHZ processor and a Titan. This issue is new-to-me with 1.3. The irony is that my frame rate is more stable and that I get stutter even when the frame rates are stable. It's not terrible overall - more of an annoyance in/around stations - than anything else. I have no issues in CZs or elsewhere.

Yea I normally have much higher frames than the video shows musta been the recording??

You would think that once an instance loads everything is in memory or cache and would run silky smooth like it used to. Now it seems like it loads everything on the fly and treats all ships as needed to be rendered and re-loaded. I understand the HDD lag while in Hyper jump as it is loading the next system instance, once you drop in should be smooth.

Also it seems like its loading things that are not visibly there, since this was a private group, it seems like it's loading other CMDR's who can't be seen. If you sit in the hanger not on the pad you can watch the drop in framerates every few seconds, the scene is static minus the steam, so the fps should be constant the whole time. it just seems like it is always trying to load something. New NPC ships entering the area shouldn't have that big of an impact...

I've had this issue on every version of the game, with two different graphics cards, GTX760 and GTX 970, on both an HDD and an SSD. At this point I'm pretty sure it's one of two things:

a) In supercruise, the engine for rendering planets as you approach them is poorly optimized, and floods the graphics pipeline with too much information at once.
b) Network latency is poor, and the end user's PC is waiting for information from the server before it draws anything on the display.

Oh well, my rig runs Star Citizen mint

Yes I fully agree it's on their end, There is nothing we can do to alleviate this issue, even the AMD tweak thread is pretty much moot at this point..
