My squadron, the Vindicated, is about to lose our home system to a npc faction..HELP!

Conflicts are best of 7 days, so if the other side wins one more day the war is over. In theory at this point the Vindicators could still win four days in a row for a 4-3 comeback.
Ahh, awesome, good to know the exact details. Every one I've participated in has been decided the day after a 3 vs. 0 day; I'm guessing the 4th day made it into 4 vs. 0 and a win. "Best of 7 days" makes a lot of sense now that you shared that info.

Good luck Vindicators! I'd help, but the Corvette is more important to me atm. :)

Other than a trivial name change. How does this negatively impact your gameplay? You don't get to control anything in your "home" system.
I disagree. A player group recently took ownership of the system adjacent to my home system, and since they took ownership of the high tech station there (in Empire space) Imperial Slaves are now considered contraband there. That system previously did not ban these. That's an effect, albeit a small one.

That would happen even if the faction wasn't a player group. The point being made is 'this shouldn't affect you any more than some other random BGS change'.

Sure, but doesn't the player group make decision regarding contraband when being set up? Or did they just get a randomized set of "beliefs?" If they specified it, it's an effect.

Used this example specifically because the number of factions that prohibit imp slaves is pretty small round these parts, which is why it stuck out to me.

You would rapidly but temporarily lose your 'friendly' (or otherwise) friendship status, NOT the rank or even reputation you've gained. However, this might affect your gameplay if you are still trying to rank up with the federation, as it will take a long time to get back to allied again and that will have a strong effect on the rep you gain from other activities (the higher your friendship status is, the faster you gain 'rep' both with the superpower and minor factions allied to them). Incidentally and simply for the sake of completeness, it's worth mentioning that friendship status with a superpower both decays when high, and increases when low, in the absence of any interaction affecting its direction, until it takes the middle of the bar where it stays.

You will also become hostile with the fed faction you are fighting due to this new loss of rep from conflict zones, and after a certain number of czs your support will become more and more inconvenient, until you are forced to hand in and rearm after each cz at the nearest interstellar factors.
There are two stages one has to reach or one's "REP" can suffer. The first is at 25% and the second is at 75%. If for example one is over the 75% mark and doesn't play for an extended period of time. There REP will descend down to but not lower than 75%. If one is deliberately causing harm to the FED NAVY for instance, there REP can and will drop below the 75% and then if there is no activity for an extended period of time, continue to drop to the 25% level.

I would say... stop fighting and play mission with high INF++++ (not REP). This will let you win the vote.
It's hard to keep track of the moving target that is the BGS in ED, but I thought only combat activities worked to increase INF during war - while missions work during Elections and combat doesn't. I can't keep track of what works and what doesn't. Wish FD would publish a guide ('cuz trying to get anything out of a forum thread over 100 pages long is a waste of time).

Saw the war ended with the BGS update today, sorry for your defeat. Better luck next time!
Thank you for your support. Whether or not one wants to, we are always learning more and more about the game, which is a very good thing. And someday we will win and maybe with the new expansion I will be able to start my new franchise, "Aisling Duval's Dainty Donut House". For all of you who posted on this thread, a free blue donut and coffee.
