Newcomer / Intro My SRV Disappeared

Hi all,

I'm out exploring, 17kly away from bubble. I have two SRV's equipped. I landed on a planet, did some exploring, loaded back up into my ship. Went to options to change something and came back and now the first SRV slot is "empty." My SRV is just.....gone.

Nothing happened, there was no accident, it's just missing and empty. What happened?????
I mean I'm glad I have a back up, but it shouldn't just dissapear.

Of course I have no idea as to what happened, however it seems an ideal candidate for going to the support site from the launcher and raising a ticket they should be able to replace it and perhaps explain.
It might be worth logging off and back on first to see if that works.

Hi, thanks. Yes, I've done both of those things. Logging off/on didn't return it, it's still "empty." I've submitted a ticket to support. It wouldn't be so concerning, except of course, I'm far away from anywhere I can replace it.

I consider it quite concerning! What's coming next? You increase volume and your ship disappears and you end up floating in the darkness only in your pyjamas? :ROFLMAO:

So I reported the issue. They apologized and said they replaced my SRV. I checked and now both SRV's are gone. I sent screen shots.
They replied that maybe that the launch bay wasn't powered (it was and i sent screen shots), and they said they showed i had 2 SRV's, even though they both say "empty ". I replied back again with more screen shots and now it's been 2 days without any reply.

So, I guess, I'm making the 17k ly journey back to go buy 2 SRV's then return and continue my exploration, which pretty simply stinks. Disappointed in their support.

Sorry, but that is funny.

Sure, just poke support again.

My guess is the save game has values for what is in those slots and maybe support got it backwards.

So they saw something like

SRV_module1
{
bay1 = 0;
bay2 = 1;
}

And instead of changing the 0 to a 1 they changed the 1 to a 0.

Or some clever person who programmed the hangars put "1" as empty and "0" as full, which makes more sense from the ship POV logic. (i.e. "can I fit an SRV here?")

I have had problems with my ship disapearing while i'm in a SRV.
Did your ship disappear, or was it just dismissed to orbit while you were wandering around in your SRV?

Because that is normal behaviour of the game... When you go too far from your ship, it will launch to orbit automatically... Then you need to recall it back using the crotch menu...

(when this happened to me for the first time, I was really surprised... I saw my ship leaving and I panicked... :) )

I thought this at the time but recall didn't seem to work/be aviable. But i try again. Maybe it is because ground wasn't flat enough.

Even if you are on top of the the most difficult hill, the ship will try to land near you, like mine did recently:

No, there was no touchdown, the landing gear isn't even out... :) The ship just tried to impale itself into the slope, but then stoped moving and was just hovering there, so I dismissed it again...
You are giving your ship too little credit.
This may be an extreme case, but when you're in a terrain where the ship is unable to land, she will sometimes try to hover low with her cargo bay open so you can jump in.
I've only ever managed to succeed at this once, but can be a handy way to get out of a tight spot. Like in some rough, tight canyons where the closest decent landing spot is kilometers away.
