My Stance on PP2.0

I pitty new Players trying to get to the PowerPlay Modules with the new System.
Just getting to Rank 34, which unlocks the Powers specific Module, is a big Grind!
Especially now that FDev is once again nerfing High Merit Gains, rather than buffing Low Gains to be more rewarding.

I am trying to understand FDev... they reduced the Grind needed to gather High Grade Engineering Mats
then they teased us with PP2.0 Rewards beeing "some things we really want", which really are just more mats and Module/Perk Unlocks, but turned it into an even worse Grind?

It was only natural that we, the Players, went for the highest Merit earning Methods because of that.
We dont want to spend another 2-500 hours to grind for Modules or Perks we had before the Update!

Knowing FDev though, theyll hardly budge and keep the Merit gains low, but i really hope they rethink their decision here.
Ascendency Update has seen the biggest Player Spike in a long time, but most of them are allready leaving again because of the Grind.

"Powerplay 2.0 has been out for a few weeks now and we are really grateful for all the feedback and reported issues you have shared.

Our intent with our balancing is to ensure a diversity of gameplay activities are viable within Powerplay 2.0, and that no activity feels significantly weaker than any other. We are continually closely monitoring for any activities which could be disproportionally more advantageous to undertake than any other, potentially creating a meta that players feel forced to play in order to rank up or participate in the conflict.

Following prevention of several exploits we will now be in a position to improve balance on the overall experience of Powerplay 2.0. We will be closely looking into:

  • Significantly reducing the amount of time/effort required to earn early modules
  • Significantly reducing the amount of time/effort required to increase ranks"

Knowing FDev though, theyll hardly budge and keep the Merit gains low, but i really hope they rethink their decision here.
The merit gains are irrelevant on their own. It's the merit to rank increase that matters.

PP2.0 has just turned a menial pointless task into a menial pointless list of tasks. In my usual gameplay i would not normally do these tasks often but now i have a list of tasks that are just boring and get in the way. According to F-dev hype everything i do in the galaxy will affect PP2.0 but in actual fact virtually nothing does.

It has also reintroduced the limpet not working correctly and the carrier transfer bug effectively cutting me off from most of the gameplay and with no acknowlegement let alone fix for these bugs it seems i'm now stuck with them.

There was a large surge of players returning recently but with broken mechanics, grossly imbalanced merit payouts and no rewards that most people care about they're leaving again. It's no wonder the company is in financial trouble. After all the great changes in the last year it really is dissapointing to see F-dev slip back into old habits of breaking the game over and over and expecting us to just keep playing regardless. i'm sad to say that i'm now looking for something new and will probably not login after the thargoid war is done in a few weeks.

It’s a major grind to older players, it’s probably just gameplay to the new player.

Genuinely new players aren’t as focused on the meta builds or the need for the PP modules.
