My suggestions are as follows

1.ships cost more to keep.
Private aircraft cost a huge amount to keep, maintaining licences, hanger fees etc. In ED keeping ships is next to nothing, while commanders stockpile unrealistic billions in credits. Commanders then have nothing to really work for. I think storing ships at ports should be charged on a daily rate. If you have one ship and don't want to pay, log off while in space, but if you store ships at a port, you should pay.

Upkeep for ships...
Cos people are really happy with upkeep for carriers?

The game was more that way at launch, I remember needing to trade to earn enough to be able to afford to fight in CZs to improve my combat rank.

It didn't prove popular even before the massively inflated credit earning potential we have now.

I liked the game I bought, and would play that now but I think increasing the rate of early game progression was probably a good move overall to widen the appeal of the game.

It's a shame we can't still play this way - or at least not without throwing credits & earning opportunities away left right & centre.

I just think if a commander has billions on billions, and owns dozens of ships, all engineered what has he left to do? The game's back ground simulation should reflect how it is in life. If you have a fleet of 20 ships for instance, you would need to maintain and store them.

Sorry, any kind of sensible economy got nuked by the ridiculous credit fountains they decided to put in the game.

As Riverside says, the game was more like that at the start when the CR flow was more reasonable. If you were a crap pilot or trader, your loses could make it hard for you to hang on to a ship, now, people crap credits.

As a start, I'd happily accept an inflation of repair/rearm/refuel prices same as income from 2016->2021.
Ship upkeep I'm not too sure about, though I am not against it.
