hi. where to start... im not a hardcore or veteran elite player. got game for over a month or so... steam says ~300hrs total. but who knows how many of them where stuck in lag waiting several minutes for game to disconnect me so i can swith to solo to play this mmo game.
yup this is going to be more of a criticism than praise.
and from someone who is bad at english... this can get nasty.
engineers...
got almost every single one of them unlocked. each unlocked one is on lvl3.
unlocking itself its OK. if there is a problem then it is the fact player have no info he needs to level up them lvl3/30%+ to unlock more. and thats a quite big one. you really need to realise that or expect player to research such basic on internet. player should be able to find such basic ingame. they need to be informed how to get the content they paid for.
unlocking was easy to do.. as long something wasnt bugged.... thats a terrible experience. you cant accest content because dweller unlocking conditions are bugged. you can see that this problem is there for months and its still with us. it was a time consuming and not fun experience to trade enough times to get all those blacksmarkets counted. because most of then wasnt registered.
and now the real problem... once they are unlocked i can see why ppl are upset with all the mindless gambling and farming.
the way how engineers work when it come to upgrades is tragic.
the very worst is fact that you are giving players feel they WASTED their time if they roll bad. the feelings they wasted time on boring repetetive mats grinding is pure sin.
this is a full price game not a free to play. you cant think its a good idea to give players such bad impression of game.
how you can see fun in farming for hours and then pressing one button that may and will in most cases render player dissapointed.
you HAVE to respect the time player invest in game. and using such RNG mechanics is imho disrespectful to players and their effort.
its like you are affraid players will be able to get their dream ship... its like you are scared players will be able to achieve their goals. so you put a those black holes in their path.
and you have no such right, i dare to say.
just do this...
let players to dump any relevant mats to any engineers they want to use. more mats you will deliver to your engineers more upgrades you can buy. no just some specific ones. but ANY upgrades.
so player will be able to fill engineer with bunch of mats and as reward they will be able to get 3x 5star upgrade or 5x 4star upgrade or 7x 3star upgrade and so on..
basically player will be able to CHARGE his targeted engineer with mats and then use that charge to any upgrade. just high grade upgrades will drain this charge faster.
and ofc mats which are rare will charge up upgrades faster than common. so...ALL mats will be relevant. even all those common ppl are dumping because of limited space.
i think you understand.
and when it come to RNG.... i really hope.. one day... you will realise how bad mechanic it is. but for start... just CUT those rng ranges to very minimum so players wont get that terrible feel they just wasted hours for bad roll. its really sad someone from devs thought this is a good idea to do. i would love if that person can have paycheck based on dice roll. 6 is +5% bonus, 5 is no bonus. anythind less will be cut. lest see how he is going to enjoy it.
and now last topic.. which brought me here... as i just got very upset about technical state of this game...
so i was again farming some Quince stuff. you know.. how ballanced you made this game when it come to cash.
and not like it happened for first time.. its every single time same... it is the LAGS and disconnects you get in quince. its kinda disturbing that game marketed as MMO is unplayable once there is finally more than 15 people in one instance.
Elite its not a only mmo or multiplayer game i play.. but only Elite once you get into populated sector, starts lagging really bad.. and quince is absolute pain full of lags holding me stuck for several minutes and diconnects. its experience i cannot recommend to anyone.
tonigh i was lag-stuck many times for several minutes.. i just wasted bunch of time.
when i bought elite a didnt expected its technical state when it come to mmo is this bad.
lags in CG zones are common. its not a great experience.
tonight i spend several hours tracking this problem making sure i did my best to ensure im not the cause. i run file check several times. i tried any kind of settings and network logging to try spot any problem. my weakest point is packet loss 0.4%. to Elite servers. which is like 0.3-4 more than i have to google servers.
so what i can say... feels like 5$ early access :/
and btw.. i dont think anyone from fdevs care to read this forum.. so i just vented some steam.
