My thoughts so far...

I'v now put over 36 hrs into this game (with over 100 in the first) and think that I have enough info to add some feedback to the game in the hopes that it can be improved and become the best game it can be.

First off, thank you devs for your time and dedication that you have put into this game and its community, you guys are amazing and your work is appreciated by many of us even if we don't say/show it.

If you don't have time to read through all this or are lazy there is a summary at the end.

The Campaign

I really enjoyed the campaign and was getting into the story and intrigue of dinosaurs not all going to protection facilities when like many others, it abruptly ended. Now I understand that this is likely to stop spoilers from dominion and I understand that, I do hope that you do continue the campaign in a free update as it would be upsetting to have to pay for what should be included in the full game. The maps where incredible and to whomever worked on them you all did an amazing job, I'm not sure what map I love more, Pennsylvania with its incredible fall colors, or Yosemite with its gorgeous views. Unfortunately none of these maps are available in sandbox mode and this is one of the biggest gripes I have about the game so far, I also like many of the DFW buildings and was similarly upset to find out that none of those buildings or skins are options in sandbox mode either.

I hope that when the "Dominion Update" becomes a thing that it will finish the campaign, allow campaign maps to be used in sandbox, and also that the DFW building sets will become a choose-able theme like Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, with the option for PC and next gen consoles to choose all three, as it lets us sandbox creators use different buildings in our parks for different themes and just variety. on top of this I hope that the metal aviary will also be included as an option. Honestly it should be an option in the game right now as the Jurassic Park Aviary and I'm not sure what design decision was made to not allow this. perhaps there is some issue with mixing glass and metal, which I think would be best solved by simply not allowing the two buildings to combine but I am not a programmer and don't understand all that is involved in this.

Chaos Mode

With how short the campaign was most of my time in "story" was spent on the Chaos modes which I greatly enjoyed. the stories and maps where also incredible and to those who worked on the JP3 map, I loved all the Easter eggs and callbacks to the movie, though the actual "missions" on this level where my least favorite of them. again though not all of these maps are available in sandbox, which is a shame as many of them are fun and unique. I hope that in a future update you will consider adding all of the Chaos Mode maps into sandbox as there are many fun maps, I also hope you add in the San Diego amphitheater as a place-able building into the game under the Jurassic park themes as I love the look of it and would love to be able to use it in sandbox for my parks.

General Game-play

I have overall had fun with this game so far and have loved the additions and improvements from the first. I especially like the "underground cable" power system that lets me make my park look better when I don't want wires in areas, the new aviary and aquatic systems are amazing and add even more to the game. the customization options are great but lacking in some spaces, but still more than the first game had. The dinosaurs are amazing and have much more personality than the first game and are fun to watch (when I have time to...)

There are still some problems and gripes that I do have though that I think could be made better to improve the game overall.

Firstly one of the biggest problems I have with this game is the Dinosaurs and there health. I have no issues with them fighting or getting sick, but they seem to get injured in fights way to easily, this makes sense when they have the "weak" gene but even when they are just at base they still get major injuries that require tranking and transporting to the medical facility. This gets really annoying when it happens on 9/10 fights that my dinosaurs have, I wonder how they didn't go extinct earlier when they majorly injure themselves like they do currently, I think that at base strength (not weak or strong genes) it should be far more close to 50% for injury and 25% for major injury, but this is just my opinion. The second problem with dinosaur health is even more annoying, the fact that the MVU needs to be double commanded to scan, then heal the dino. I understand what you are going for as far as adding more fun vehicles and systems into the game to add to complexity and management, but I think that it would be better if the medical scanning was relegated to the patrols then you can send the MVU to treat them or the helicopter to trank them and then send them to the medical facility, that or just have the MVU scan and heal, though I see why you don't want to as it is interesting to see the different types of injuries that the dinosaurs can have. Honestly I'm not sure of the best way to solve this issue but it needs to be solved.

Where my individually place-able trees at? No but seriously, I love the decoration options in the game right now and would love to see more things like fountains or statues, but while there is incredible decorations including some amazing rocks, there are no single trees, these where in the first game eventually and I hope that you add in individually place-able trees as decorations into JWE2 as well.

I love the amenity customization and coloration, while it is not high on my list it would be nice if more buildings and fences had some color customization elements to them as well.

One or Two more path types would be awesome.

JP era aviaries and aquatic facilities. Again I do not understand why the metal aviary is not in game under the JP era, it fits its athletics and is even canonical in the movies that they existed, perhaps a new viewing gallery and hatchery would be needed, but honestly both the in game hatcheries and viewing gallery( the DFW one) fit the JP theme nicely. I understand why there is a lack of JP themed aquatics, but honestly I do not think a whole new tank wall is really necessary for a JP theme, however I do think that a JP hatchery and some form of JP viewing gallery would be needed, I think one where there are seats above and stars to a below water viewing room would be nice.

The new skin system is great but a preview of the actual dinosaur and pattern would be nice. I understand the amount of work that would take with the number of dinos and patterns in game but It would still be nice.

It can get annoing constantly refilling food and fuel. potentially a wearhouse of sorts could be added to store food and tanks for fuel, but I honestly think simly adding a, "larger storage" module would work as well.

And finally a small gripe of mine but when I plan my park and place a lot of buildings of the same type at once, say bathrooms, it gets really annoying to have to go back into the menu, pick the bathrooms again, place and repeat. I'm not really sure if this is just me, or really what can be done that won't mess with other players, but it is something mildly annoying that I thought I would put up here as well.

TLDR

The game is great right now but has a lot of room for improvement. Maps from scenario and chaos mode are beautiful and should all be added to sandbox. DFW theme should be added to sandbox. JP San Diego amphitheater should be added to the game as a place-able viewing gallery in sandbox or just under JP theme. Dinosaurs get injured too easily and the MVU is annoying as it just leaves after scanning a dino. More decorations and individually place-able trees should be added. JP metal aviary and aquatic amenities should be added to the game.

The game is really fun and I hope I will have many more hours of fun with this game in the future, thanks again Frontier for all your hard work on this game and your dedication to the fan-base, I hope you take some of my suggestions and improve the game further and further in the future.

YES! That is such a small change and would already improve A LOT of what feels "weird" with the system! I mentioned something like that in my feedback thread as well. I would expect the rangers to, while not having vet training to actually identify what that is, I think they would be able to identify whether the dinosaur is in okay health shape, or not feeling well ("We should call the MVU") or blatantly injured ("we need the rescue team!"). I also think the system needs automation, built in from the get go (because the rangers definitely have at least a walkie talkie to call each other) or via some module upgrade, but that is my personal preference for sim/management games as a whole (not clicking to do things but having the infrastructure built so the game runs it while I supervise)

Yes! Bridges, please!

Also suggested something to improve that. I think we should be able to select the options we want and the game randomizes those in the skin. Or at least have a toggable randomized skin so you can still customized them if you want to (for instance, to have a themed area in the park).

Add "hold shift to add multiple" - although I am not sure that is not a thing ingame already (since I uninstalled it and can't try it)

Agree with this 100%. The Yosemite National Park map, especially, is absolutely beautiful and would be really fun to play with on sandbox. The Arizona map would be fun too as the current desert maps we have, one is very fragmentary and the other is San Diego, and you can't delete the amphitheater, so if you're not looking for that kind of aesthetic you can't really use that map. So there aren't any empty, flat desert maps in Sandbox currently.
