How is fixing the forums going to help hotlinking to a file that is located on your hard drive?
i tried uploading the file, i have no idea why this forum is so weird and backwords, i gues i spend to much time on other forums, any way picture is uploaded now

You need to upload the image to a host site such as imgur. Inara actually works too, but of course you should only upload Elite related images there. What I use.
Upload of images directly to the forums was disabled quite a while ago. The forum isn't broken, it's working as designed. Nothing to fix.

I am a member other forums/websites, and upload pics to them all the time. But as I'm not interested in the mechanics involved on this site I won't be posting any pics or vids here.

It's Frontier's prerogative. I'm not going to argue whether it's the right call or not.
But from a technical perspective, it is working as intended.

I can't remember the last time I used a forum that allowed or required you to upload pictures directly to it, there's no reason they would bother when there are hundreds of free third party image hosts and the site supports html tags. With imgur (for example) you only need to upload things once and then you can organise them in albums and link them to multiple sites, which has always seemed far more convenient to me than messing about uploading things individually to any site that I may wish to post them on.

As for the post I wouldn't normally say this but I've seen your post alien stuff in Dangerous Discussions before. Thargoid content belongs in the Aliens section to try to let those that don't want spoilers stay away from them, especially when the title of the thread doesn't make it clear there are spoilers.

Cool stuff OP. Even cooler that people actually decide you deserved it, rather than 'see who can snatch it first' as in what I normally experience in multiplayer games.
