My list would probably be as follows:
  1. Perentie so Australia gets another habitat reptile, I think the Bilby is cool but I could use another reptile.
  2. Honestly the roadrunner would be cool, very unique animal and it represents the desert part of North America.
  3. I’ll give it to the tanuki, especially due to cultural relevance.
  4. 100% due to my bias the North American porcupine.
  5. Marsh deer for my SA deer.
  6. I got to give it to the Southern Rockhopper, could always use another bird. Even a penguin.
  7. Barbary sheep gets my vote, hands down.
  8. Nile crocodile is basic, but that’s why I want it. Also because I can use it in my Madagascar builds.
  9. Fishing cat for another small cat, it also has unique behaviors.
  10. I got to give it to the cloud rat. I think I would like another rodent.
  11. Agouti for the same reason above, I can use more rodents.
  12. I think lion tail macaque gets my vote for its unique look.
  13. Oddly enough, I want the squirrel monkey because of how basic it is.
  14. Yellow throated marten for me!
  15. I always need a new turtle, so the Asian soft shell has my vote.
  16. I’ll pick the radiated tortoise so I can add it to my Madagascar builds.
  17. African civets are very cute!
  18. You guys know who I am, WHITE FACED WHISTLING DUCK GETS 300% MY VOTES
  19. I think the lowland anoa would be very cool.
  20. Likewise I’m gonna pick the southern ground hornbill. Especially because it won’t be like the other birds in game.
  21. I don’t care for another rhino, so the Saola gets my vote.

These are always fun!

1. Perentie: It's a really cool monitor in appearance (size, color pattern) that is already on my wishlist. The "standing on two feet" animation would just add to the awe. While I feel Bilby is too niche of a pick

2. Wild Turkey: It's iconic and covers vast territory and biomes. Also striking colors to shake up NA "brown" roster

3. Raccoon Dog: Because it has more versatility and is present in more zoos (at least in my experience)

4. Canadian Porcupine: Both Porcupines are really good picks. Here my soft spot for northern fauna tips the scales

5. Pudu: This one was easy. Pudu is so unique, and would be refreshment compared to deer already in game. It also boosts non-tropical SA roster

6. S.R.Penguin: This more of a vote against Leopard Seal. I'm not too hot on any new Antarctic animals, but at least another penguin offers variety and compatibility to King Penguin

7. Barbary Sheep: Here I vote against my biases. Chamois are local to where I live, and I've seen them a plenty in wild. But never in zoos. Barbary Sheep also looks cooler (imo) and is a zoo staple

8. S.S.Crocodile: This one can go both ways. Nile Crocodile has lot of pros going for it. I just prefer S.S.Croc for looks and biome

9. Sumatran Tiger: I could live peacefully without any SEA additions till the end of the game. I guess Tiger for realistic zoo variation

10. Neither: Not only are they SEA animals again, but very niche ones that I'd just never use

11. Agouti: Very easy pick. Depending on species covers different biomes and regions and can be used as filler for bunch of different New World sections

12. Grey Langur: Now this one was tough. If you asked me before, Macaque would get the vote. As time went, I warmed more and more to Langur. But wouldn't be mad with either

13. Spider Monkey: Not as tough as last choice, but I really do want Squirrel Monkey in a game. It beats any Tamarin species in my books. But no New World monkey comes close to Spider Monkey. It's just too good of a pick

14. Neither: I'm good on all ferrets, martens, minks and polecats. As far as mustelids are concerned I am only waiting for Sea Otter now

15. Neither: Again unfortunately, no interests nor knowledge for Asian tortoises. Softshell trutles look repulsive

16. Radiated Tortoise: Just so there aren't two "Neithers" in a row. But Radited beats the other one in conservation, habitat and looks

17. Common Genet: Because of its distribution in Southern Europe. But African Civet is cool too

18. W.F.Duck: It wins only in this match up, because I find it the best duck choice, while Brown Pelican is, for me, worst pelican choice. But Brown Pelican beats any other duck. And any other Pelican beats W.F. Duck

19. Neither: I just wouldn't use either of those. Anoa is once again SEA animal that I had over my head, while African jungles have way more interesting ungulates already present in the game

20. Marabou Stork: Big enough to be part of mixed savannah habitats. Hornbills would need either separate habitats or smaller ones that would reduce their compatibility, which hurts African savannah animals the most (imo again) if they're not interesting enough to carry their own weight

21. Neither: Again. But not only are both SEA animals, but both are animals rarely present of absent in captivity

Tanuki or Japanese Serow: Asia lacks filler ungulates
Canadian Porcupine or Brazilian Porcupine: I like both but the lack of SA animals gives this on the edge
Marsh Deer or Southern Pudu: The more unique one
Southern Rockhopper Penguin or Leopard Seal: Something to pair with the king
Chamois or Barbary Sheep: Only if it comes with a baboon, otherwise the chamois

Perentie or Greater Bilby - We have three monitors already, we have nothing like the bilby so that would feel more unique. Honestly though I don't care for either that much, I think I'd be pretty happy with the bilby though while I'd be indifferent to monitor number 4.
Wild Turkey or Greater Roadrunner - Man, North America really needs a bird. I think both are needed but I'll give the edge to the roadrunner because there is absolutely nothing remotely like it in the game.
Tanuki or Japanese Serow - Super close, both would be great to add to a little Japanese area with the macaque and crane and look different enough from their relatives. Ultimately I'll pick the serow because the tanuki is barely found outside of Japanese zoos unless we count in the other raccoon dog species (in that case, I'd rather the dog)
Canadian Porcupine
or Brazilian Porcupine - Both are great and I know South America needs more animals but in this case I'd prefer the NA version since its way more common in zoos.
Marsh Deer or Southern Pudu - Marsh deer is such a random pick, is that even kept in zoos outside of SA? Pudu all the way.
Southern Rockhopper Penguin
or Leopard Seal - The leopard seal is cool but its not kept in captivity and rockhoppers would work great with the kings we already have.
Chamois or Barbary Sheep - Big fan of both but the aoudad is an absolute zoo staple, definitely the more needed one.
Nile Crocodile
or Slender-snouted Crocodile - I do like the slender-snouted but the Nile is really common and its the most iconic African crocodile so it wins over for me.
Fishing Cat or Sumatran Tiger - A third tiger would be ridiculous, a unique small cat however? I'd take it.
Northern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat or Sulawesi Bear Cuscus - The cloud rat is really unique and common in zoos in my experience. Also mice might be one of the most iconic groups we have none on, and most others won't be big enough for a habitat. Sorry cuscus fans, I like it as well but the rat wins for me.
Bush Dog or Agouti (any species) - Yea agouti easily, super common in zoos and it would be great for tropical houses while the bush dog is another canid which while cool we have plenty of.
Lion-tailed Macaque or Grey Langur - For me these are the iconic Indian monkeys, and hey we at least already have one macaque compared to langurs.
Squirrel Monkey (any species) or Spider Monkey (any species) - Spider monkeys are too unique, definitely the point goes to them.
Black Foot Ferret or Yellow-throated Marten - I honestly had no idea the ferret was kept in zoos, I love the marten so I'm going with that.
Giant Softshell Turtle (any Asian species)
or Any Asian ground Tortoise - We don't have any freshwater turtle so I guess this
Red-Footed Tortoise or Radiated Tortoise - South America needs it more than Madagascar
African Civet or Common Genet - Another close one, I'll go with the European species though because I'm biased towards those.
White-faced Whistling Duck
or Brown Pelican - This is a cruel one lol. Ultimately I went with the duck because it can be used for both Africa and South America. If it was the GW pelican it would have been different.
Red Forest Buffalo or Lowland Anoa - Both of these suck honestly, I'm more than done with buffalo and have been for a while. Anoa at least is smaller so I'll go with that but I dislike both.
Southern Ground Hornbill or Marabou Stork - Gotta go with the marabou, storks are too iconic, especially this species.
Saola or Sumatran Rhinoceros - This isn't Planet Fantasy, both are dumb ideas but I'll go with the rhino solely because its a species I really like in real life and its actually been kept in captivity while the saola might genuinely be extinct.
