Here are some management options real themeparks, and i do some work in the real themepark industry, are have to deal with.
1: Building permits.
- Create a blueprint with the exact theming, ride, costs and location in the park. Asks the locals and the government for a permission to build. If the local government disagrees, no rides can be build and you have to change strategy. You can also advertise the ride being build. Or you have to get a permit for a specific spot to build your flats, coaster, darkride. Or a spot in the park only gives you a permit to build a specific ride there.
2: More in dept food/merchandise challenges
- Restaurants. Make a food counter, or a large self service restaurant with a kitchen and link it to tables, diner hubs and more to make dining and food more interesting then just shops and fast food. Also this could bring a option for new staff members: Waiters, Cooks, Bartenders. Which could be released as DLC or as free update!
- Food stockings needs to be transported in a backstage area of the park. Supply your stores, restaurants, etc.
- Free creativity for souvenir shops. With the new Hotel system, we should get a similar technique to build souvenir shops. Making shelves we can fill ourselves for our souvenirs and link the shelve to a cash desk / checkout counter at the exit of the shop. We need a new staff member: Stocking checker (I really don't know the English word since i'm Dutch). This guy takes care of sold out goods.
Of course Frontier has to give us options to fill our shelves with Hats, cups, pencils, and other themepark related souvenirs. Shirts, statues... Whatever comes into mind.
3: Park management improvements
- There are two types of parks:
AMUSEMENT PARKS
THEME PARKS
The amusement one is just building a ride, theme it to the minimum and just having fun.
The theming one is the parks with more or less having heavily themed rides.
We are currently missing the options to build one or another and for a more family based park we need to have the theming more important then the extreme of the ride.
While in a Amusement park people want to have more thrills and don't care much about the theming. So you need to manage that in a whole different level.
Staff, Let's talk about the security of the park. I feel like the camera's are useless in the management function of the game. You don't know what area they spot and i have no clue at all where all the images of the recorded footage go to. I'd like to build me a security hub with a new staff member: Video Guard. The security guards needs to get updated with a working walkie-talkie to get info from the video surveillance in the security hub.
I think Janitors should fix benches and litter bins instead of Mechanics. It makes more sence if the Technical Department of a amusement park sticks to rides. so a Mechanic needs to be focussed on rides.
4: Ride operators, Ride loaders, groupers and queues:
- I think a staff member operating a ride can be useful. and he needs to be trained to do so. Therefore we need to build a control unit a part from the ride which we can link to a station or flatride like the Hotel System.
- Staff members that loads guests into the station, checking the safety bars and give a go to the control room would be a nice touch and really simulation evolved.
- Groupers: With a boarding/fast/priority pass line, single riders, and stand-by queue we need a grouper to say you are going there you sit here in the train etc.
5: Manage the height of drop/view/starflyer towers by adding a option to drag the height with your mouse.
6: REPOST: Shows!
In RCT-3 we were able to create shows with the soaked and wild expansion packs.
Like Animal shows.
How great would it be if we could build a theater with custom seating options (Change the range of seats, a square theater, a round seating theater or full circle theater or Amphi Theater in the open).
Options we should get:
- Stunt Shows (Great with the new studiopack DLC for decors)
- Circus or Acrobatic shows
- Animal shows:
- Dolphin
- Whale
- Tiger
- Lion
- Elephants
- Or a pet show
- Sky Dive show
- Water acrobatic show
- Mystery show
- Musical show
This could get a lot of people out of the regular queue lines.
How it should work:
I think we need the same system as the Hotels.
- One Stage piece, (multiple designs and recolor-able)
- Seating areas we can link to the stage piece
- One Entrance we can link to the stage as well that you can link to the path so people can actually join the seating areas. I don't know if it is better to link everything to the stage to the entrance section or to link everything to the entrance area.
- fully customizable stages, where you can script your show as setting up the lights/special effects/movements of the actors/trainers/aniamals which you can manage in a RCT-3 mixmaster alike interface.
- People need to react to the stunts-performance given in the show. And also have to feel a flow in the production.
- You need to have a guide for the sound, light equipment and the things you need to create your perfect parkshow.
- You need to be able to custom theme your arena's so that the show fit's within the theme area of the park where the show is based off.
- Your new employees are 'ACTORS'.
- Actor is to represent the story and to do dance and sing.
- New Employee: Acrobatics
- Employee that is trained to do acrobatic stunts.
- New employee: Stunt-Performer
- Stunt performer is trained to do the heavy stunts like jump off buildings, racing cars, wearing a flaming suite, jump from heights into water etc.
New Employee: Animal Trainer
- Animal Trainers are known for giving shows with animals.
7: Coaster creator management.
- When you try to create a layout using the prefab items it is really hard to smooth a track! Time for a redo, and manage the coasters much better.
- Adding switch tracks/transfer tracks.
- Adding maintenance building to maintain cars for coasters/darkrides. Adding accessible catwalks on coasters for mechanics to brakes and block sections to maintain rides.
8: People need different moods/emotions.
- I really miss angry guests when they don't like something or tired people.
9: Wooden Coaster Support management.
-All the wooden coasters look the same even if many different manufacturers are using different styles. Please let us choose a support structure of our own and not just one copy cat!
10: Let us adjust angles on water rides, so we can make bigger, smoother and more realistic water rides which are now the most unrealistic rides if the whole game.
This is my top 10 wish list to be improved before a new dlc with no common sense get's released by Frontier.
