My vision: The Scientific Service Provider

Hi folks,

talking with Dr. Kaii yesterday about passenger missions gave new fodder to one of my original ideas when I first heard about passenger missions. It ocurred to me when I saw Erimus' video of Distant Suns where you saw a scientific outpost somewhere out in space. We also shared many ideas about how you could blend exploration with scientific analysis, like taking samples, 'enhanced' selling of data and the like.

Since we explorers always seem to have good terms with the scientific community I thought about just adding a passenger cabin to my Asp and look especially for scientists who want to visit special 'scientific' locations like nebulae, black holes or other 'stuff'. I mean, as an explorer, I'd go there anyway and I am happy for everyone who can give me a lead on new and nice finds.

So this is where I start to become a Scientific Service Provider: Having four cabins for some space nerds who just want to go into the void, do scientific stuff and pay me loads of credits to get them there, to a place I want to see anyway.

I am eager to try this out. My small business at last...

Sound like a good idea to me. My only thought would be not to have too many of these available. Another thing would be the treasure hunters who have a map and a fist full of dreams. Even when they find nothing we get paid along with the fun of the trip. :)

I've been having similar thoughts: I'd like to be the one designing the cruise and then drumming up business for the passengers to opt into. It's been on my mind because I'd love to take passengers with me on the Christmas Convoy, but I know full well they'll likely abandon ship after the first week because I'm taking too long. This expedition is crying out for passenger participation, so it makes me sad they're not going to be there enjoying it with us.
