My wishlist for Planet Coaster 2

Hi all! New member here, so I thought I'd introduce myself a bit along with this post:

I'm from Germany, since the 1980s I'm interested in theme parks and their history. I've also been designing my own parks for all my life, first with pen and paper, later building parks in other games (especially RCT3), and now in Planet Coaster. In my RCT3 era, I've been an active member on SGW (much missed). However, despite countless creative hours in Planet Coaster, I haven't posted a lot of PC content anywhere so far. I hope this will change with Planet Coaster 2, which takes me right to the actual topic: My wishlist for the game!

The overarching guiding motif for my list is to be able to build more realistic and a bigger variety of parks than what was possible with PC1. For example, let's say I wanna build a family-owned traditional mid-sized European park in a realistic mid 1990s setting - I'd like PC2 to enable us to do these kind of parks better than PC1 could.

Another note before I begin: I wrote this list under the assumption that Planet Coaster 2 will have everything that PC1 already had, but now, after what I learned from various threads here, this probably won't be the case, so my list here may be lacking some new aspects like the UI concerns, uncertainty about custom music, missing old themes and probably also rides. However, I'm really excited about PC2 and its new features. Some of my points here might also be obsolete, as I might have missed the one or other confirmation in the meantime. Some of my points are already widely requested, but some I haven't seen mentioned so far at all - these (apparently) new mentions are marked with a star ⭐️.

Enough explaining! Here's my wishlist, sorted by category - and within each, by priority:

Rides - Water
  1. ⭐️ Boat ride like Armada, but for use on lakes, without channel. A roof could be achieved with custom theming of the boats.
  2. Visitor steered boats on lakes (rowing boats, pedal boats, swan boats, etc.)
  3. Splash Battle
Rides - Tracked
  • Omnimover / Doombuggy with a single ("endless") train and rotating platform
Rides - Coasters
  1. Powered Coaster
  2. More classic / vintage junior and family coasters, like the ladybug and old Schwarzkopf coasters from the late 1960s and 1970s (WIldcat, Speed Racer, etc.)
  3. Intamin Multi Inversion Coaster (like Indiana Jones: Temple of Peril)
Rides - Flat rides
  1. Mad House (plain ride for custom theming - this would be absolutely immense)
  2. Huss Rainbow
  3. More classic rides from the 1970s and 1980s
  4. More basic family rides
  5. Simulators (IMAX Simulator, Flying Theater, etc.)
Non-rides
  1. Fun House
  2. ⭐️ 180° Cinema (those domes from the 1980s)
  3. Minigolf
  4. Mazes (Mirror, hedge, etc.)
  5. Walkthroughs
Rides - General ideas
  1. ⭐️ Separate entrance and exit stations for coasters, tracked and water rides. People would exit the ride before a segment that is closed for the public, for example a lifthill.
  2. Rotating platforms for tracked and especially water ride stations
  3. Pre-shows, especially the function to halt the queue for the time of a sequence
  4. ⭐️ Option to test rides without dummies
Shows
  • Ability to create custom shows in a sequencer (magic, dance, etc.) and stage them in a venue (hall, circus tent or amphitheater, etc.)
Shops, restaurants, service, etc.
  1. Real restaurants (service with waiters / self-service with trays) with placeable chairs and tables
  2. On ride photos (define photo trigger on track / sell in a stall after exit)
  3. Arcade / Midway games
  4. Generic shop counter (select what's for sale)
Themes
Besides hoping for most themes to return, especially those that are widely used in parks around the world, I'd like to see these as new ones - in no particular order:
  • Dinosaurs
  • Space travel
  • Medieval
  • Fairytale (traditional)
  • Steampunk
  • Mexico
  • Maya
  • Egypt
  • India
  • Thailand
  • Polynesia
Buildings
  • All kinds of thin panels for floors (carpet, wooden, tiled, etc.), wallpapers and ceilings
Scenery
  1. Animated "host objects" with various basic movements (spinning, up and down, etc.), that other scenery objects can be attached to, in order to set these in motion
  2. ⭐️ More realistic (= unrealistic!) animatronics (explanation: The ones in PC1 were too life-like and didn't feel like theme park animatronics)
  3. More useful generic objects like chairs, tables and other everyday items
  4. ⭐️ Better display of custom images on billboards (fixing the paleness issue from PC1)
  5. Playground objects (as others have already elaborated, actual functional playgrounds seem unrealistic, that's why I included playgrounds in this category)
Path system enhancements
  1. Railroad crossings
  2. Elevators
  3. ⭐️ Escalators
  4. ⭐️ Functional wobbly bridges
Park management
  1. To be able to set opening times across the year, including closed periods, etc.
  2. ⭐️ Evening tickets (reduced entrance fee after a certain time)
  3. Annual / season pass
General
  1. ⭐️ Realtime mode (1 minute = 1 minute)
  2. Guests leave the park at the end of the day
  3. Multiple parks on one map (separate water park, etc.)
  4. Power and water management being optional
  5. Color picker tool
  6. Mac support
And finally:

A long life for the game, custom content support (like TMTK), and a lot of DLCs - everything that keeps us excited and passionate to create and show our parks for many many years. :)
