My Worries for JWE3: Cut Species

My biggest concern for Jurassic World Evolution 3 is the species being cut from JWE3, considering that the base game's species roster of JWE2 of 79 (or 84 in the deluxe upgrade) is much higher than the 37 (or 42 in the deluxe upgrade) species the base game of JWE1.

Meanwhile, there's only 82 species for the base game of JWE3 (86 if we're counting the deluxe upgrade), meaning that many species we all come to know and love in the previous games may have been sadly cut, not to mention that it's considerably much less new or returning base game species than what JWE2 had compared with the first game.

I understand that modeling a new game with breeding and juveniles is hard, and that quality is often better than quantity, but we should have waited for another year for Frontier to develop the third game, so that every species from the previous two games would return.

I really hope that Frontier was just being cheeky about JWE3 only having "82 species" at launch, and are adding in more than a 100 species at launch, with the remaining animals (other than Thanatosdrakon or Concovenator, which are sadly resold in the deluxe upgrade) being added, hopefully not through paid DLCs (this would engage fans), but through free updates (even if some species like Carcharodontosaurus and Deinonychus gets redesigned), one by one into the base game. That way, our worries would be gone for the third game.

I'm pretty sure that we'll gradually get all the species that exist in JWE 2 as affordable DLC in Part 3. And on the topic of quality over quantity... 82 species at launch. Each (except the hybrids) has three models: male, female, and juvenile. That's about 264 different models. That's quite a lot, I think.

The fact that the animals don't have seamless growth speaks more for quantity over quality in my opinion.

Not counting the alternative models, which we don't know if they will be in the third game or if the original ones or those from Netflix will be eliminated, Evolution 3 will have more than double the models of its predecessor.

That's my other worry! I don't want them cut just to be resold. :'(
That's what caused a backlash in the Secret Species Pack DLC, and the Huayangosaurus in the Deluxe Upgrade.

I really hope that they'll get added through free updates, like what the fans have been wanting.

They've done it before, and we paid, so why not do it again?
They certainly won't leave a pound lying on the street. 😅

Maybe they'll even do the same with every DLC as they did with the deluxe version: 2 new and 2 old species.

Well, the problem is, JWE3's roster will only be 2 or 3 more base species than JWE2's roster (which is far less new/returning species than JWE2's roster compared with JWE1's species roster), and if all cut species get resold, the fans will be upset and will backlash against Frontier, demanding to make them free updates.

I am not sure if noticed, before Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis and primarily any of the Jurassic World: Evolution games, these species have first appeared in the original novels:

  • Dryosaurus
  • Cearadactylus
  • Maiasaura
  • Styracosaurus
  • Euoplocephalus
  • Apatosaurus

Due to Apatosaurus appearing in all the Jurassic World films including the newest one, there is no mentioning whether the other five species be returning in Jurassic World: Evolution 3.
