My zoo is crashing during the loading screen :'O !

Hi all, I'm completly lost and sad, I don't know what to do to recover my 800 hours+ zoo  !

1) I wanted to change Youtube video while I was playing. So I switched to a Youtube window.
2) Coming back to the game, it made my zoo lag to death (around 9 FPS...) like it happens sometimes (often) when I leave the game to load a window ...
3) So I decided to go back to the main menu to restart the zoo.
4) Since then, my zoo cannot start, neither in Franchise mode, nor in Sandbox mode: it crashes while loading.

I'm devastated, I've try to clean the files in the Steam local files property, I've restart my computer, I've try to start my zoo in the SandBox mode, but nope : it stills crashing 🥺...

Do you have any idea to save the zoo ? I love it so much, I've spent so many hundreds of hours on it to polish every details, I would be so sad if I can't save it.

Thanks a lot lot lot for those who have suggestions on what to try to do 😲 !

I have no idea what to do, as I only have 250+ hours in PZ itself, let alone a zoo, and I've never lost any like this.

But, try this: go to the following directory: users/username/saved games/Frontier Developments/Planet Zoo/number/saves

Get your file, and send it to Frontier. You could also try uploading it as a "mod" and either have somebody download it to try it or you can re-download it...

Just an idea, don't know if it'll work

You can try if it works again if you delete the newest Save File of the Zoo (I'd recommend to copy it into another Folder first). Then try if it works again if you load the previous Save. If not, move the newest one back and wait if maybe the next Update fixes the Problem

I'm so sorry. Same thing happened to me.

This is very common. A lot of zoo's still crash. A lot of people have lost zoo's, and lost hundreds of hours of work.

I don’t know if you can do the same, but I’ve switch one of the previous save of this zoo from Franchise mode to Sandbox Mode (via My Zoos panel in the main menu). I would prefer to play again in Franchise Mode, but it’s better to play in Sandbox Mode than lost everything :/ !

You can try contacting them through support@frontier.co.uk to see if they can save it if it's corrupted.
Just curious, when you say you "cleaned" your files does that mean that you verified your files on Steam?
Thanks for the mail !!
Yes indeed, I don’t know of it’s the correct english term (I’m french), but when I’m on my Steam Library, I right-click on Planet Zoo -> Properties -> Clean Files, something like that !
