Mystery Ship: What is an Unmanned CMDR ?

I came across this ship while fighting Thargoids at the AX CZ next door to the rescue ship in Aulin. It is depicted in radar with a hollow triangle.

I thought all commander names begin with a CMDR? So how do they get to be an Unmanned CMDR?

I deleted the remainder of the name in case I am accused of "naming and shaming". The ship didn't declare for either side at the CZ, didn't take part, and was last seen being chased off by one of the big jellies :D

Any suggestions? Commander or NPC? I don't have any more details apart from this photo.

Your ship gets labeled as "unmanned" if you deploy an SRV or pilot an SLF from it and you don't have NPC crew onboard.

Clearly, neither of these things should be possible from a python in a CZ, so this is a bug of some sort.

Odd that that's a Python, I would've thought that would only apply to when a CMDR is in an SLF and has the NPC at the helm... But there's no SLF for the Python, so maybe a bug?

The ship acted like it was in control. When it encountered one of the big Thargoids, it turned and fled.

Your ship is supposed to disappear if you telepresence to another, but I don't think I've joined the crew of another ship that was in the same instance...perhaps that could cause it to remain.

Or it could just be another bug. The ship's thrusters are firing in that image, so it's moving.

It was obviously a developer in 'test mode' in the live build. He, or she, was hurried in making the Python, and forgot to UN-able 'magic mode'.
Was the docking computer named 'Fred'?
