n00b needs assistance PS4

Hello,

Got a couple of question;

Can i have group the control presets like i can group weapons in fire control ? I want different button configurations when in battle and when docking for example.

Can I use a keyboard with Elite Dangerous so i can assign the keyboard controls ?

You can assign a different set of control options for when the landing gear is down. As for keyboards, they can be used but only in chat and the galaxy map, you can't assign commands to it.

- Not sure what controls you want grouped. It is possible to assign certain controls to an alternate configuration but I am not sure that will answer your problem - PASS on answering

- Yes you can use a keyboard within Elite Dangerous. I have hooked up a Bluetooth keyboard to the PS4 as a second controller. Anywhere that would usually pop up the text entry box can be keyed in from the keyboard (galaxy map, local chat, wing chat etc.). The keyboard does not however allow the replacement of the DS4 or HOTAS controller which is still needed for flight, screen navigation etc.

Please can you treat me like,a complete n00b. Everyone has said the option is in the right hand menu of the cockpit but i just cant find it. The tabs i have are

Status
Modules
Fire groups
Inventory
Functions

Just curious, does the KB only work for chat and text input? I was thinking about buying one of those little KB add-ons for my PS4 controller, but if it's just as easy to hook up a wireless KB instead I'd MUCH rather go that route
