Name change upon station flip

I suggest that stations have a small chance (<5%) to change their name after control has changed hands. Perhaps one day we'll see WCM Transfer Orbital rise from the ashes of Leonard Nimoy Station!

From DocLooshKin: Backers don't want their station names disappearing without a trace. Proposed fix: do not allow KS Backer stations to be renamed.

This would be a great addition to show the BGS workings and could be a big surprise to pilots when suddenly a well known station is renamed!

Would go well with other things like using PG to "decorate" stations per BGS info like Power, Faction, Wealth, Tech Level, etc. from building block components. I think planetary bases have the start of this with billboards of power play figures, but I think much more could be done and it would help differentiate stations and keep all Coriolis from looking exactly identical, for instance (OK, we have high-tech and low-tech so two varieties, but so much more potential for variety of the interiors exists.

Hello, Hagglebeard, long time no see. Went to Maia. Love the player faction.

Renaming major locales and monuments is a favourite pasttime of various flavours of conqueror throughout history, so it would certainly be appropriate on that level. In this particular instance, however, many of ED's station and planet names were chosen via some fairly pricey Kickstarter reward tiers. It seems likely to me that at least some of those backers might have a few qualms about seeing the most expensive part of their reward vanish without a trace.

I think a nice big, visible holo-emblem of the controlling power would be nice.
Ground bases seem to display the powerplay faction that controls them.

Well, if the Putin decided to take New York, wouldn't there be a chance for a Putingrad?

This isn't simply something like a mayoral change, this is quite possibly entirely different systems of government coming to power.

They should just add 'New' to the beginning of its name. So a system of intense strife would have a station named New New New New New New Hutton Orbital.

I'm sure there's tons of generated station names that this could apply to, especially with horizons starports out there.
