Naming zoo sections

If you like to give your sections/areas in zoos their own names with signs, what names do you choose? For example, a SE Asia section, Australia section, jungle section, primate section etc.

Curious to hear your creative titles!

Sorry, I significantly lack in creativity when it comes to names. I have a hard time thinking of zoo names. So sections will just be called after the continent or things like Primate House, etc.

When I did my first zoo that had specific sections I called them these

Wild Aisa
American adventure
African foot safari
Australian walkabout
Woodland walks
Carnivore county

Try to choose either:
  • A national park or natural area to focus the attention of animals on
  • A generic continent title like north America, Europe , Asia
  • A biome the animals are themed around - the zoo I am building right now features zones like tropical rainforest, temperate Forest, Africa savanna etc
  • A weird and wacky name for the zone also works if not wanting traditional names. Check many zoo maps online and see if any of those section names sound cool

Usually I name areas as work zones.
In my NA zoo, which I have based on national parks of North America. Such as Denali, shanadorah, Yellowstone etc.
My feline only zoo, I have 4 sections.
House of stripes: bengal, Siberian, striped hyena
House of spots: jaguars, clouded leopards, snow leopards and Amur leopards.
House of camouflage: Eurasian Lynx, cougars and caracal.
House of the pride lands: spotted hyenas, cheetahs and lions.

My primate exclusive
Monkey barrel for all monkeys
Ape escape for all great apes
Other apes: lemurs and siamangs and hopefully more

Hyenas aren't cats. Their honestlymost closely related to fossa and meerkats.

  • American Prairie
  • Cat Kopjes
  • Outback
  • South America
  • Wild India
  • Serengeti
A few area names from other zoos of mine are:
  • The Great Plains (Not specifically any continent)
  • Primate Park
  • Shady Forest
  • Arid Plaza
  • Amazon
  • Mesa Plaza
  • Lost Forest
  • Bear Trail
  • Temple Ruins
  • Chimp Central
  • Cat Country
See if that can spark some ideas.
