Naphtha Class Tanker

Has anyone been out to the Naphtha Class Tanker (FKS-981) The flight plan says it is in the Okinura system at the moment.

I read that you can pick up an infinite supply of Chemical Manipulators (FSD Grade 5) It is a bit of trek for me to get there, wanted to confirm if others have been there to collect materials.

Cheers

I was there yesterday, plenty of interesting mat's including Chemical Manip's. You'll get them every 3 or 4 board flips. You can also get them at Dav's hope if that's nearer for you. Same principle except SRV.

Yes, confirm best source of manips. They always spawn in the same place-ish, so you park there, log, scoop, reverse, log, scoop, reverse, etc. 50+ an hour I'd guess. You might get many instances without, don't lose heart, they'll come.

Have you tried USS sources in High Sec systems within Shipping Lanes? You won't have to travel far for those.

I used this method just before Christmas .... worked well. https://youtu.be/yxQzUAyQDWk

Combat Aftermaths are the only legit source of Chemical Manipulators, and it's rather hit n miss. I must confess to using the tanker specifically for the manipulators and almost nothing else. I don't like doing it, but needs must occasionally.

The tanker is in the center of the bubble, how can you be far out? Buy a hauler or dbx and engineer the fsd, the bubble is only 6-7 jumps across.

I don't recall the last time I needed these. I keep 15 on hand. A trip to Felicity costs me 1 or 2 of these at most. All I can think of is "Y'all must be on RNGesus' s-t list."

I was there earlier today.

I can confirm that chemical manipulators were spawning much more often than any of my runs to Dav's Hope.

If you want to spend those chemical manipulators, you will have to come back anyway. Might as well combine it.

What do you mean by legit? It is perfectly legitimate to blow up Type-9s in a lawless/anarchy system to get Chemical Manipulators (Convoy Beacons). Immoral? Perhaps. But not illegitimate.

Naptha Class Tanker FKS-981 - where materials can very easily be found, with a little bit of mode swapping to refresh instance, large quaintities can be collected very quickly.

It moves around a bit so you need to check where it's currently stationed (see Canonn Research link).

Okinura
Arinack
Bandizel
Saranyu
Gyton’s Hope
Tollan

You're right I forgot that, because as you say, immoral. I have done it once though, and found that finding t9s was a 1 in 20 rng chance, them dropping manipulators seemed even rarer, such that after entering about 15 convoy dispersal usses and blowing up 2 t9s and their wings ruthlessly, but more importantly, fruitlessly, I thought 'sod that!'. Add to that the fact that one of them was being escorted by 3 vultures, I think I'd rather poke out my own eyeballs. ;)

Those tankers or Dav's Hope you can get plenty of CM but it is a relog fest.

Tried both, tanker is better option. While Dav's Hope require slow and tedious driving around, tanker is way faster. Especially when you bring collector limpets. It's just park, target and limpet will deliver stuff to you. The only pain is constant relogging.

For CMs I'll pick tanker every time.

Re: anarchy systems (outbreak) convoy beacons:

Immoral?
Containing the outbreak is a moral duty of every commander! :D

Yes I agree, I also tried both.

Arrgggh, wish I read this topic properly, didn't realise you had to mode switch to randomly get chems from the tanker, hate it so much...

Arrived at the tanker (Amazing location) Lots of grid resistors, Chem processors, no Chem manipulators. Log around 10 times, managed to get 3 drops (9 Chem manipulators.)

Head to Farseer in my T-10 and try and upgrade the 46% optimal mass 7A FSD that was in my Cutter, all rolls would give me worse performance. Now have no chem manipulators, and all my data mined wake exceptions are now used. Rookie mistake.

Head to Shinrata, store the 46% FSD and buy a fresh one for 50 million, head back to the tanker (relog 10 or 20 times) Fun... Then head to to a distribution centre at a system experiencing famine, manage to easily wake scan for the dataimined wakes. Back to Farseer, manage to get a 48% roll.

Why can't we have giant debris fields to collect this stuff? logging to grab maybe a couple at a time is not good gameplay, debris fields at the moment are a few km's long, why not use Star Citizens method, massive debris fields, you can spend hours in there cruising around looking for stuff, none of this relog rubbish. Make it difficult to find stuff, but give people a good alternative to staring at a menu 20+ times, never doing that again.
