Naphtha Class Tanker

If for immersion-breaking reasons you want to avoid logging, entering supercruise then immediately turning round and dropping back out again will also refresh the instance. Worked a treat for me and probably wasn't much if any slower than logging.

Yeah thanks, I know, do that with the Thargoid crash site on those Pailin missions. Just seems like poor game design, I dropped into the tanker, amazing site, instead of flying around enjoying the scenery and salvaging, I was logging in and out of the menu. Giant debris fields would be much more interesting game play, throw some pirates in there for those that like to shoot things, players can spend time hunting among wrecks for various materials.

Here's an example of a debris field in Star Citizen, thousands of Km's long, ED could benefit with these kind of regions for salvage and piracy.

Combat Aftermaths are the only legit source of Chemical Manipulators, and it's rather hit n miss. I must confess to using the tanker specifically for the manipulators and almost nothing else. I don't like doing it, but needs must occasionally.

Ah not completely, just look for an anarchy system with Res sites and kill the miners. They drop CM like crazy. 50+ in half an hour

Used to be against murdering NPC miners or traders, but anyone who mines in an Anarchy RES deserves a couple or Torpedos up the exhaust pipe. I'll try a RES site next time.

If true, I'm surprised, perhaps miners are classed as 'trade ships' whatever hull they use...interesting (cos Chem Manips only drop from 'trade' ships, whic his usually T9s, T7s, T6s, Keelbacks and Haulers).

Anyway, my CMDR does not kill innocents or break the law without a SOLID reason. In any case, there's no way this is faster than using the tanker!!

Completely random, I could have spent hours at that tanker last night. Gave up when I had 3 rolls. Mining ships are counted as trade ships, they are still hauling cargo.

I'd say I seem to get a chem manipulators spawn in about 1 in 3 or 4, I've done it twice now. As you say, probably very random.

Good info on the miners from lucius, rep. I still wouldn't slaughter them personally, but it's good info all the same. :D

Went there today. I don't think Mats spawn there anymore.

Yeah, I think they stopped having materials spawn around megaships for 3.0, maybe 3.1, I forget which one exactly. It used to be a great place for mostly the same things as Dav's Hope, since instead of driving a lap around Dav's you can instead see everything on your contacts panel and send out limpets.

I wanna say it stopped spawning materials whenever they added megaship piracy, datalink scanning it and whatnot. But, I could be wrong. At the very least you are indeed correct, it's not a location to farm materials anymore.

IMO, about the best way to obtain most manufactured mat's (aside from those specifically found in HGEs), these days, is a combination of blowing up combat ships at RESs/CNBs and blowing up civvie ships in anarchies.

Personally, I'd suggest going after Belugas at tourist beacons in anarchies rather than going after T9s.
Thing is, unless you're prepared to become a criminal, the only place to find T9s is at nav-beacons in anarchies and they don't appear very often.
Conversely, if you go to a tourist beacon in an anarchy, you can be sure that a pair of Orcas/Belugas will be arriving every minute or so.

Pachanwen is an Anarchy with a tourist beacon.
Take a fast ship, overcharged weapons and lots of collectors. ;)
