Naraka Cartel​


Meaning

Naraka (Sanskrit: नरक) is the Sanskrit word for the underworld; literally, of man. According to some schools of Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism, Naraka is a place of torment, or Hell. The word 'Neraka' (modification of Naraka) in Indonesian and Malaysian has also been used to describe the Islamic concept of Hell.

Alternatively, the "hellish beings" that are said to reside in this underworld are often referred to as "Narakas". These beings are also termed in Hindi as Narakis (Sanskrit: नारकीय, Nārakī), Narakarnavas (Sanskrit: नरकार्णव, Narakārṇava) and Narakavasis (Sanskrit: नरकवासी, Narakavāsī).

History

Started by former Federal Navy Admiral Atticus Cross, Naraka Cartel began life as a refuge for ex-military looking for a home. Whether they were honorably discharged.. or not so honorably, they were welcome here. Taking on work wherever it was found, The Cartel often found itself operating within the grey fringes of legality.... and sometimes deep into the red. The Cartel has since expanded to welcome those from all walks of life. As long as you've got a ship, and you're morally comfortable with occasionally operating outside the strictures of government imposed regulation, you'll fit right in!

Occasionally, after one or two too many Lavian Brandies, a pilot might be found muttering into his mug that The Cartel is the shady hand of the Federation. Doing the jobs the Feds can't be seen doing themselves. This is pure speculation and the leadership encourages disregarding such comments as the mind addled ramblings of drunks and miscreants.

The Cartel often works with any and all organisations who have the creds to hire their services, especially independents. Sure the cred amount is higher if it's an Imperial organisation, but that's just smart business right? They've got the creds to burn anyway. On very rare occasions, The Cartel will even work for free. Having a soft spot for the wearers of Brown Coats, The Cartel can often be found out near Vargeson, doing what they can to help out.

Playstyle

  • We're a predominantly PVE organisation, although those interested in consensual PVP, go nuts. As long as it's for profit, or revenge. Killing Commanders for no reason nets no profit and won't be tolerated.
  • We don't tend to put much stock in group politics. ing and moaning about other groups is discouraged.
  • We're a group of salty old dogs with a strong gallows humor style of camaraderie. Banter is encouraged! :)
  • We look after each other and our buds, and we try and make creds in the process.
  • We definitely don't take ourselves too seriously.
