Narrative driven missions =

Go honk at stuff in Pleiades. Well woohoo. I doubt FD could have thought up a more dull story if they tried. So much potential being wasted.

Obsidian Ant's video offered a good comparison with Eve. It left me with a sense of longing for events like that to occur. Flying around looking at stuff isn't my idea of narrative driven community events.

Eve is basically just a big PvP sandbox. Brilliantly done and you get some epic stories out of it, but the day-to-day business is more Excel spreadsheet than game. If you're not into the PvP aspect, it's a very, very dry game. If you are into it, it's a true nail-biter of a game. Even hauling cargo in Eve can be truly epic.

I think it is a good game, but there is really no sensation of "space" in Eve.

I got bored with Eve. But my point was about narrative really. In most other respects, I prefer ED.

There was real hope when the first "initiative" came along calling on commanders to rescue citizens from attacked stations.
