Isn't it astronomy? Not astrology?
Astrology was the precursor to astronomy and came about from meticulous observation of celestial phenomena. They were literally studying the stars, hence the name: "study of the stars" (like the other -ologies). And they were very good at this. The problem was that it held on to the mysticism and didn't adapt to new observations and theories. So when the true scientific discipline of astronomy came around, they wanted to separate themselves from the mysticism of astrology. But the better scientific name was already taken and instead used "astronomy" which means "law of the stars."The astrology and the astronomy are intimately linked

Aqua's answer raises a question. If NASA are doing astronomy, are FD doing astrology?
