This sounds like a classic long con on the American people to guilt them into handing more money to NASA.

I'm sorry to those that dream about being astronauts, (or cosmonauts if you prefer), but the point or purpose of sending people into space is questionable.

But not my pocket. I'm sure some future US government can find some welfare program to cut.

I wish I could send my junk (that might come in handy some day) to a museum from where I'd be able to retrieve it later.

Instead my wife has a worrying tendency to throw it out...
