Natural Game mechanics

I discovered something interesting in Elite dangerous that is quite intriguing. I am going to call it natural Game mechanics meaning it may or may not of been intended from the game developers.

When a person buys a game on the internet they like to join forums where they can see the game in action, they look up the game reviewers who give the best information for advantage in the game. Sort of like real life they end up in what is called mainstream, the ebb and flow of the customer base. Similar to the get rich schemes a player is enticed to follow the crowd into certain systems and then wonder why the pirates are there to swallow them up.

The part where this is funny or intriguing is that the natural Game mechanic that gives the people advantage is also high risk of people using the same strategies to intercept people using that advantage. Many people screaming of the injustices and do not realize a couple of systems from them is the exact advantage procedurally generated and unknown and undiscovered by the mainstream game bloggers. With a billion stars this game has potential to be the best MMO I have experienced. I guess if we were to look at it from the suntzu perspective the "high Ground" meaning safe advantage point from your enemy is to go off on your own learn the game without help from the bloggers. The "common ground" meaning points where you run into players would be close to systems mentioned by the Game bloggers and "Deadly ground" would be to subscribe to a gamers blog and follow them blindly and be completely oblivious to the "natural game mechanics"

Is funny you said that. By the time I started playing I have had seen so many videos, read so many threads, that as soon as I could, I left LHS 3447 region to never come back.

Not only that, I made sure not to go to Lave, Eranin, Asellus Primus, etc. until I didn't have my Asp -which took me a whole month of heavy playing as I was figuring everything out.

Wish more people had the same idea. Also witched the game could spawn new players in all and different directions of civilization. Why does this bunch has to start in LHS 3447? Have them star each one in different places!! Random!!

That would increase the chances to meet people outside if only few spots, let along people having attachment to a place they can call home -unlike now that I think of LhS 3447 more as a prison I got to escape from lol- and also people learning their area will make them feel, well, the kings and queens of that corner of the galaxy.

Best advice is to head out on your own but when you have some credits come back and protect the new players.....and if you need a challenge visit lave famous for Lave radio.

As this Elite dangerous MMO grows I see the Game bloggers getting desparate and offering real money for information creating a win win for individual players. Natural Game mechanic rules will make the game bloggers more and more hungry for information as it is not advisable to tell anyone when you found the perfect trading route or hunting site or objects in the game.
