Nav Panels (oculus rift) loosing focus

Loving the Rift (DK2) and ED, however there are a few annoying little issues with the GUI - hopefully i'm not on my own with these.

The nav panel when your looking to your left and right doesn't seem to retain it's focus for long, when I look left , just as i'm about to select something it disappears and I have to move my head again to regain focus. this becomes frustrating at times when trying to select a destination.

The other issue that is annoying is on the commodity market - when scrolling down the black & white menu it very often looses focus and greys out the listings until I move my head again thus preventing joystick control until the focus is re-assigned.

I'm presuming FD could either widen the range of the tracking or sustain the time the panel is displayed.

Just curious if this annoys anyone else or perhaps you have a fix your able to share.

Thanks

Edguy

There is a mess, big mess, also when you are in the Starport services the side panels should not show up. Before giving the EXIT in the Starport Services was taking you back to the cockpit, now it pauses the game giving the Options, quit, save bla bla bla menu.
Please fix like it was in B2!

Thank you

Mine doesn't do that (although side panels are available in starport services and that is a good thing)

Mine doesn't do that either - sounds a bit odd?

When you are in the Menu with market contracts ect ect, your side panels are not coming up while looking left and right?
When in the cockpit and looking at the side panels, if you try to read the edge of the panels they don't disappear?
If you look to much down they disappear, there FOW Field Of Work is to narrow and high. When you wnat to look out from the Side windows the menu pops up
I would also prefer a button to make them toggle if possible. not in auto.
And last, if you press ESC in the Starport Service menu you exit to the Cockpit or you pause the game? In B2 You go in the cockpit and if you press ESC in the cockpit you pause the game.

As Ref Minor said, I think side panels being available in Star Port Services is a good thing (a toggle option is always nice). The focus on them is definitely a bit flakey with the rift.

Ahah thought that sounded a bit odd ..... the above read to me that when selecting exit from the Star Port Services it paused the game and took you to the Options menu ;) IMHO pressing the ESC button on the keyboard should always take you to the Options menu, it's a global standard within the game and probably been 'fixed' in B3.

One point I would make is that though the need to adjust your head to keep a panel open and reading something near the edge is an annoyance; having a larger focus area would probably bring up a whole new set of annoyances, eg, trying to take in the view without opening panels. The end result will need careful balancing.

Totally agree. As Wolfox hinted maybe a completely different mechanism?

I use the ESC button with voice command saying EXIT
In Beta 2:
Cockpit - EXIT - Pause game
Galaxy map - EXIT - Cockpit
Starport Service menu - EXIT - Cockpit
Outfittings - EXIT - Starport Service
And when looking left and right the Side panels don't show up

Beta 3 :
Cockpit - EXIT - Pause game
Galaxy map - EXIT - Cockpit
Starport Service menu - EXIT - Pause game
Outfittings - EXIT - Starport Service
And when looking left and right the Side panels show up. (on the RIFT some time you need to lean to look at edges)

Is not comfortable to those who uses a hat switch to scroll all the way down :(

Okay so I just want to give some feedback on my OP - as most of the people have kindly mentioned they didn't experience the issue I was having.

I have had a play around and managed to successfully fix this problem hence it was a client problem, unfortunately I can't tell you exactly which one out of the 4 things I tried fixed the problem, although daft as it may sound it may of been number 4.

(1) Installed the latest Nvidia drivers.
(2) unplugged the tracking sync cable from my camera and plugged it back in.
(3) calibrated my rift using the rift config show demo screen.
(4) Within the control option of ED I disabled the comms panel bind keys by pressing escape to unbound the association - as this was previously forcing the blue chat command bar to pop up every time I zoned.

hopefully the above may help someone. :)

Thanks

Ed
