Newcomer / Intro Naval Ascension Missions

Hi there,

I'm wondering how to trigger naval ascension missions once i'm allied with a major faction. From what i gathered naval ascension missions are triggered when i gain reputation with a minor faction, but if i'm already allied with the governing major faction this is no longer possible ?

Those missions are tied with your combat rank in the pilots federation.
If you can't seem to advance by doing missions, get a higher combat rank and try again.

I was stuck at "lord" and "warrant officer" for a long time...
Then i put up my combat rank to "expert" and i got both ascension missions a day after.

Naval Ascension Missions have nothing to do with "Combat Rank". They are tied to your reputation with the controlling faction of the system you are in (Empire or Fed). Doing missions for the local groups (tied to the controlling faction) will advance the Naval Ascension Missions. Missions with an icon of a hand with a plus symbol over it are the ones that give reputation and advance you the most.

Will missions advance the Naval Ascension Mission even if i'm already allied with the governing faction (Empire or Fed) and thus am already allied with all minor factions affiliated with them ?
