Naval progression seems fixed

I took 3 seperate naval progression missions for gen. lee, gen. Evans and gen. jackson.
All three were alledgedly in the same system which i figured would up my chance of finding any one of them by 3. I found gen. lee after about 3 USS's to my surprise.

I killed him and all 3 missions were updated meaning i completed all of them even though i never saw evans or jackson. (so seems like FD still needs to fix that)

But other than that i'm glad i'm no longer a midshipman and can wipe maelstrom out of my memory forever lol also got a nice new permit as a reward

Thanks for info. I finally started getting the first missions today and have just seen a kill mission for gen somebody. Was wondering whether to take it. What ship did you fight and what was the pilot rating?

It's fixed until you reach Chief Petty Officer and end up in PLX 695. Then you'll be stuck with it trying to give you the PLX permit over and over.

Doing mine for the Imperial Navy. Accepted five (all different systems) completed two so far. Both were Imp Clips and were expert/master.

They appeared after one or two USS. The first got away, but was back at the next USS in the same system at full health. Bought four dumbfire launchers for my Asp, the second did not escape.

First kill promoted me to Squire (rank 4), second did not. I assume that is normal as the earlier missions seemed to take two to rank up to 2&3.

Been looking for Gen Evans in Eta Cephei for quite a while, dozens of USS but no sign of him.

Edit: And five minutes after I post this, he shows up. Federal Drop Ship, not wanted initially, but he opened fire first.

I've got as far as Lord and am now stuck. I've been given a permit for a system that doesn't exist and been told to go there and await for instructions.

Navy gave me permit to summerlamd, but all I can find is summerland (notice the m and n). I think the mission and permit has a typo preventing me from progressing further :(

Correct...The ones that are getting duped should not allow you to accept. It will say you already have the permit. This does not stop your progression. Eventually new accession missions will show up. I first hit this situation after Rank4, currently just finished Rank 6.

I took 2 separate missions to find Maelstrom, in 2 different systems, but can't find him anywhere - one of the missions has expired as well, which reduced my standing. Been scanning loads of ships in SC, as well as countless USS, but can't find him at all...is making me sad that I may have to forfeit another mission! :(

You're not stuck. It's a typo in the mission, you get a permit for Summerland. There's no continuation if you go there, the mission is just a way to give you the permit. You can keep playing the way you are and get more naval progression missions when they pop up.
