Fiction Navies in Elite

I'm working on a Federal Navy project. Are there any authoritative sources of information about the Fed Navy, its history and activities? Is there any info anywhere on its standard operating procedures? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, it's just a germ of an idea at the moment - I need to see if it is feasible. It would be both in and out of game. I have a Royal Navy background, but I later trained in astrophysics - so I have an interest in starships (despite them not existing, yet..)

There were resources provided to the authors of the official tie-in fiction that handled this topic as well, but Frontier has not made them public (yet).

Time will tell how much the militaries get fleshed out (I'm hoping a lot, but probably little by little over the next decade). I'm sure we will see Frigates and Destroyers eventually. My fondest hope is that the Alliance will get fleshed out, and have their own ship production. I also suspect they will be heavy users of the Falcon de Lacy ships. I like comrade Susimetsä's Wolf mk II idea as well.

IIRC much of the background material was compiled by Allen Stroud of Lave Radio fame. he probably knows as much as anyone outside of FD about all things regarding the lore of the game

A problem with the books is that they were written before the gameplay was fleshed out. The action in Lave Revolution, for instance, doesn't match the reality in the game terribly well. It's not really the writer's fault. It's an inherent problem with writing the fiction while design decision are still to be made.
