I am at present doing some navigating with a view to discovering some new planets and getting my name attached as the discoverer. As I travel I appear to be in the middle of all the stars around me, I heard that you are more likely to come across virgin territory if you travel higher or lower amongst the planets. How do I climd or dive to these places, I have tried but when I move towards a star it just disappears.

In the Galmap, if your keys are the same as mine, R takes you upwards, F takes you down.
Once you get the stars showing close to your present location, try those keys, without zooming in any closer.
