Newcomer / Intro Navy Kill Mission

Hi

I've been pootling around for a while now, trading, exploring and finding lost black boxes, but I'd like to start kiiling people now please! - yes, it's been that sort of a day.

What's the best way to start? I've got my nice Cobra, but I don't want to trash it first time out. Is there an 'easy' (for me that is) route in? Any particular type of combat that is good to start my new career?

I've done the first couple of Navy missions and am now being offered a kill mission - is that a reasonable one? or should I wait until I'm a bit proficient first..

You might want to do a bit of bounty hunting first, a kill mission is likely to be harder than your average NPC.

Nav Beacons and Resource Extraction Points are good locations. I find it easier to BH in non-Anarchy worlds because there's less hassle from the local cops as long as you stick to Wanted targets; in an Anarchy, attacking anyone can get the cops after you.

Fit a Kill Warrant Scanner in order to maximise your bounties ... and take care when going after a target that's a member of a wing.

Nav beacons are easier than res, that kill mission may be hard. I just had a dropship which was a piece of cake, but could very well be a conda.
Once you have some practice, you might be able to find someone to wing with you. The bounties on some of these though missions can be high (pirate Lords are)
