NB! Put your enterable Black Holes in here.

Hi Guys.

Some black holes can be entered fully. They seem to be quite rare. You will know you have one when you DONT get a maximum safe distance message.

These can be approached to within a distance of 1 meter, and after much natter on the rift thread, it would appear that there is a SMALL---I repeat ---SMALL chance that black holes can be used to fast travel vast distances.

However. there is a catch. In order for a commander to use this method of travel, he or she must have previously been to the target, and done a full system scan. its not good enough selecting the system in question. The actual black hole must be targeted itself...

At least that's the theory. So, help prove us wrong or right and we can try it.

We need two things.

Most importantly - a list of "Open" Black holes.

And second, a list of Black holes with a Minimum Solar Radii of 0.0001

And remember - always throttle right down before hitting a black hole. That way you wont get any damage. And remember to move away a sufficient distance when reengaging SC. This will prevent overheating.

Best of luck, and allow me to begin! [smile]

This is rumour control:

Everything that you have heard so far, is just rumour.

Everything you have seen so far: Are just figments of your over active imagination.

Everything you think you know, so far: Is false and a result of your over active imagination, thinking about the rumours you, may, have heard.

Edit: At the centre of a black hole is a very, very solid mass, which if you get close enough to; you will become a permanent part of.

enterable black hole ??

are you sure that those canisters of beer are well sealed in the cargo ? :D

Elite bases its celestial entities on real celestial science as much as possible.
A Black Hole is nothing more than a super-dense star. If you entered it, you would be crushed. If you somehow were not crushed, you would find a center point.

To my knowledge, it is WORMHOLES, not Black Holes, that are theoretical tunnels through locations in space. I don't think Frontier would mix up the two.

Funny enough, that's what you find. Its doesn't seem to be a bug, and it is 100% reproducible with certain black holes.

BTW, there are 3 different kinds of black hole. We think these are the spinning type. The only thing in a black hole is a singularity, which is a microscopic point of near infinite mass and energy.

And yep, the ship should be spagetthified over the universe, but it isn't.

Sealed beer? ARE YOU MAD MAN????
Everyone knows the natural state of beer is to be cold and open.

The only thing accurate about this topic is that some blackholes allow you to travel through them. It is a bug, nothing happens, no fast travel etc. Simply no body exclusion zone. Just bad LSD trip visuals.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on TRADGOI AA-A H0 very remote region of space

I have seen couple Black holes that allowed me to fly through them and couple that didn't have the black hole visual effects so i could go and sit 1 m away from its center. I reported it and got answer was that its bug.

Yeah it's a known bug..

Really? Ah well, that puts a damper on things then...

Stars and planets are just empty spheres,it's normal for games. You can enter stars while jumping to another system ( you can't cancel jump count down ).
