Neat headset solution to my OpenTrack IR setup

Thought I'd share the results of my reasonably involved efforts to get a satisfactory, cheap and convenient head tracking solution going.

I was strapping the 3 point tracker to my Bose QC25s but that wasn't going to cut it long term. The Point Tracking frame I got from eBay is excellent quality - 3D Printed and neatly finished with a USB power lead. The only problem being the USB cable is not as long as the headphones and so I was connecting it to my Monitor USB which was ugly and inconvenient draping it across my X55/Keyboard setup.

My Setup with the X55 is mounted to an IKEA shelf that sits above the PC Tower and can be pulled out for play, sitting it infront of a Triple Monitor setup (that I sometimes use NVIDIA Surround for but mostly run trading assistants and the OpenTrack/VoiceAttack/EDFX panels on either side of the main 21" monitor. I have a Happy Hacker Keyboard mounted between the X55 Throttle and Stick for quick access to keys and a Razer DeathStalker and gaming mouse as the main inputs next to the right side monitor.

Anyway, for the OpenTrack I got the Play Station camera and the point tracker.

Because the point tracker has USB power I sourced a small USB power brick and use that - either in a shirt pocket or on the desk/control plank in front of me.

But the piece I am most happy about and the purpose of sharing in this thread is how well the point track velcro straps to the new Gaming Headset I got - The Plantronics ESL RIG500.

Sits above the mic and with voice attack and open track I am fully sorted - very happy with it. Took some doing to get OpenTrack to work for me. The other apps didn't want to play for some reason but OpenTrack is good - curves, bindings and all.

Here are some pics to put it in context.
