They just need to have a bit more practice and possibly be told about the range of the weapons etc, maybe watch a pro do those missions in order to get some tips. They will get there eventually.

Dont laugh. Took me a while last year to get those canisters to blow up. Not as easy at it looks the first time you start piloting!

Those rocks look seriously bad on the X-Box. He probably can't fly the ship because of the hideous controls ... no stick!

At least the devs were kind enough to give them gimballed weapons for the first mission.
If I remember correctly, on PC we have fixed weapons for this mission, which is a bit harsh when you don't know how to control anything.

I don't remember that canister were so difficult to destroy. Is the gimbeld multicanon which is missing each shots? That's weird.
I have the feeling my first attempt was faster. Did they changed multicanon in the last months?

Plenty of people on PC play with just an Xbox 360 controller....and the New xbox one controller is suppose to be even better. There are no issues playing the game without a $400 flightstick.

I had a crack at the xbox demo, and can confirm its way harder than it was with my hotas - not just the controls either, sat in front of the canisters, locked on, unloading hot death, hitting consistently - still took at least a reload to finish one off.. by the end I was ramming them just to get through it faster..

Makes me want to own an Xbox even less than I do now. The game looks so much better on PC!
As far as the video goes, we all started the same way, even if was back in the 80's...
